Somebody Keyed my car!

Somebody Keyed my car!
I'm so pissed off right now...
I woke up this morning to discover that my RX8 had been keyed really badly.
There is damage to all panels along the passenger side.
It's going to be > $1000 to fix.
It must have happened in the middle of the night infront of my house.
I park on the street (No garage). A warning to those that do...
I still can't believe it. I just finished putting on my strakes and accents too to add insult to injury.
errr...
This is going to be the first claim I've ever had to make with Insurance.
Does anyone know a GOOD autobody shop to do the repairs? (In Calgary)
(In disbelieve)

man that really sucks.. that's my biggest nightmare whenever I park my car in a unfamiliar parking lot or on someones street..
My friend parked his S2000 in front of our friends house one night, very nice neighborhood. Well someone drove by and egged his car! turns out eggs may break easily, but they sure leave a lot of damage to the paint..
I hope it works out and looks better than before!

I recommend Low Cost Autobody
http://www.lowcostautobody.com/
I sent KHTM there when he had his car's rear end fixed and he was happy with the results. They are the only ones I would take my car to.

If you don't want to make a claim. Get SAIT to do it. When my daughter scratched the car with a pipe... long story, they painted it and it only cost me 100. Check it out. It may take a few days but you only pay for the materials.
It had a 12 inch scratch deep to the metal and they feathered it in nicely.

my god what the hell is wrong with people... are they brain dead?
Does anybody have a good story of actually catching one of these rejects in the act? IMHO, anybody prepared to do something like that should be ready for whatever happens as a result

I figure this is an act of jealousy and by young punks who don't know better.
Adults simply don't do this type of thing. It's absolutely pointless.
If only I had seen this person in the act, I'm not sure what I woulda done to them, but it wouldn't have been pretty. I tend to snap and lose control quite easily.

Moral of my story: Get a baby and catch the bastards! :D Good luck with the repair

Really sorry to read about this idiotic act of desecration/vandalism, Admiral 8.
Here in Whitby, ON, for the second year, a person or persons yet unknown has/ have resumed spraying /dousing cars parked overnight on one specific street with a corrosive liquid. One resident, according to reports in yesterday's local paper has been 'hit' twice. Damage to finishes is extensvie.. blistering..etc. No perp (s) apprehended, despite ramped up Durham Regional's presence and citizen vigilance.
Info re: specific vehicle make targeting, or not, not revealed.
Mine is safely, I think, garaged. My wife's Olds van has not been hit so far.
Sickening

Yeah, it hasn't been a great year so far.
Since I bought it in February of this year, I've had 2 flat tires, a cracked windshield, mazda recall, delay on my items with DLS Customs, now this.

Yikes!! I've had some issues too, though nothing to compare with your keying incident. For me, the most recent was engine flooding this past Monday morning - When things like this happen, it makes me wonder if this car is worth it. But then I look at it, and it is so damn gorgeous. And when I drive it - well..., I don't have to tell you cause you have one too!! :D I love this car much more than I should love any inanimate object.
