SpeedRacer's Borla Exhaust MPG
Guys and Gals;
I just got Speedracer's Borla Exhaust MPEG and well after viewing it, within 20 secs (time it took to get number and dial on my phone) I called my guy and ordered the exhaust system for my car. All I can say is WOW. The sound is awesome and the flamethrowers out the pipes is great!!! Can't wait to get it!!!
Cheers

If I wasn't parking my car for the winter at the end of the week, I'd be looking into ordering one too. It sounds awesome, and the flames are just too wild. :D
The Borla exhaust is definately on my list for spring.
So what's the easiest/cheapest way to get one in Canada?

How are you getting flames with your cats in place? Or... have you done away with them?
This is strange for a number of reasons, obviously it's happening, I saw the video, it's just hard to speculate why.
With our Rx-7's we can forget about flames sneaking by the cats, even people with one free flow cat may never see even a hint of a flame and if they do it's usually a tiny little one poking out.
Also, the Renesis exhaust ports on the side housings are designed to reduce unspent gas by moving it through the cycle again and burning it next time around. The flames are due to the hot exhaust igniting the gas downstream, so if anything our Rx-7's should be more efficient at throwing flames. Seems like this isn't the case because after seeing that video those are some huge trails; blue too, they must be some hot.

Anybody have a link to this video? I haven't seen it.
But, I have yet to hear a Borla exhaust that didn't sound like absolute *** (what is with the American's drooling over that nasty sound?) so I don't hold out much hope for their RX-8 exhaust.
But, what do you expect from the country that think an un-corked Harley that's wheezing and missing sounds GREAT?

Here is a link to the discussion on the Borla exhaust:

The video is on page 12, I think, but there are sound clips earlier.
I'd say it sounds pretty good, actually. Similar to stock, but a little more aggressive. Not too loud, and definately not the deafening can o' bumblebees some local cars have.

Warm up engine
Get the exhaust red hot by running the car over 6k RPMs for several minutes
Come to a stop or at least keep it under 60 MPH (slower = bigger flames)
Rev it hard (WOT) and lift off of the throttle quickly
INSTANT FLAMES!!!
As you can see, it is not easy to get flames because the conditions have to be perfect to ignite the unburnt fuel and there is a lot of unburnt fuel in the upper revs because of Mazda's overly rich fuel maps. It is my understanding that Mazda is drowning the engine in fuel in the upper revs to keep the cats at an optimum temperature to prolong their life to meet CA emmissions. If Mazda ever corrects the pig rich fuel map the flames will probably go away.

I was playing with mine like that last night, I heard some popping, but i don't know if the flames where actually outside the muffler. So I pulled up in front of a closed store, and watched the reflection in the mirror... no flames for me... hehe.. but the unspent gas is definately igniting IN the ehaust somewhere, as i can hear it, and actually feel the concussion when the windows are open.
