Spoiler- Calgary

My 2005 RX-8 doesnt have a rear spoiler and i have seen some pics of a spoiler which is more like a lip off the back of the trunk, it is rather understated and looks pretty cool as it isnt too large.. does anyone else have a spoileer like this as i have not seen one in my travels, just curious as to where you bought it and did it come painted?

Hi Chrisc20

There are a couple of lip spoilers that you may be thinking of. The first is the Euro spoiler. I've never seen one in person but they come OEM in Europe. I was looking into getting one on Ebay but got beat out last minute. This one supposedly decreases your coefficient of drag, hence increasing mileage. I think it was from 0.39 to 0.38 --> so probably negligible effect. You can probably get this off Japanparts.

The one that I have is the R-Magic replica made by Evo-R (vendor on this forum).

The other one that I can think of is the Racing Beat. It looks a little too big IMO.

Here's a link with a bunch of lip spoilers. Euro, Knightsport, Super Autobach,

I'm sure there was a thread on lip spoilers and the different types. Good luck!

Hi .. it does not come painted. I had it painted for about $75 at a local body shop. It sticks on with the 3M double sided tape. At first I was very hesitant about just using "tape" but apparently its the same stuff they use to hold up industrial sized mirrors on ceilings (I forget which airport they cited). So far the spoiler hasn't budged.

Alternatively, you could just get the carbon fiber and forget about painting it
