The start of our Vintage Mazda collection

Hey All,

I wasn't sure if some of you guys/gals knew of the older Mazda's we recently accuired, so I thought I'd share some pictures of them with you.

First is our 1974 RX-4 Wagon, originally a Canadian car owned by an elderly couple that has 67,000 miles on it. We picked it up as a running driving car, not much seemed to be wrong with it!
The car was Ziebart undercoated when it had only 39 miles on it, probably the reason its in such great condition today.

This wagon is undergoing a complete resto from top to bottem. Its stripped to a bare shell right now and has been soda blasted to strip off any paint and rust. All the suspention parts are being replace and powder coated and the drivetrain is being updated with a turbo 13B. This will be an ultimate sleeper

The second car we picked up is a 1972 616, although not rotary, it is the piston engined version of the RX-2. Everything about the car is the same except the taillights, badging and the motor of course. Its a 1.6l 4 cyl.
This car has an amazing 30,000 original miles on it and also is a Canadian car.

We are going to actually take the drivetrain from the RX-4 and put it into this car to make it an RX-2....almost
Expect to see this car at some meets very shortly, the wagon wont be done until probably Sept.

Id say we have a pretty good collection going so far, but we are always on the hunt for more vintage Mazdas.

Infact we did find a very nice 1974 RX-4 Coupe here in Ontario with 27,000 original miles still owned by the original owner. He doesnt want to sell it at all, so we are working on the car for him. Its sat in his barn for the last 15 years so the carb and motor need some work.

Enjoy!

Damn! That's some Vintage machinery!

Looking good guys... who would have thought such mundane 4 doors would be so sought after...

Badass. I love how the old school Mazda all look like miniature version of American boats, but with rotary engine.

Yeah I really like the way the RX-4 coupe looks. Kinda like an old Mustang or something.
The way they drive is something else too hahaha.

Hopefully the landlord will be getting the lot paved soon...I'm sick of the damn dust too. He told us it will be done this summer....

I was hoping to get the motor swapped into the red 616 for Saturday and put a 10day temp on it....but its not looking like I can swing it, apparently customer cars are more important than my own :D
