Subwoofer Amp options

New member - quick question probably already answered elsewhere. I have two JBL GT100 (10") subs in a BassWorx enclosure that fitsnicely in the upper rear trunk. I am looking for a suitable mono amp to push the two subs and am leaning to a midrange JBL. I have moderate technical knowledge and am not doing the install myself. Questions:

1. Do I need to purchase / use a Bose adapter to safely and effectively hook the amp into the system? I have had apparenly reputable dealers tell me different answers.

2. If I do need to use an adapter, is there a particular brand/model I should use or stay away from?

3. If I don't need the Bose adapter, is it simply a matter of splitting the passive signal from before the existing rear amp and running the signal to the added amp? Could this damage the head unit due to a change in impedance in the line?

4. Finally, is there anyone in the Greater Vancouver area who has had a dealer do an install in an RX8 that knew what the hell they were doing?

Cheers litig8
