A sure sign of spring.

Anyone else notice the last few days when the temp gets over about 10 deg C shifting gets back to butter smooth even at first start up.

summer tires can't be far away now.:D

All is good

Hmmm . . . butter smooth and short shifter may not go hand in hand, at least that was my experience in another car. You lose some mechanical advantage, what you lose in throw you add in shifting force so things get worse at cold temps. How short is short enough? The 8 is pretty short in stock form so I personally wouldn't mess with it. Just drive another car for a few days and get back into the 8, it will feel really short then and you won't have had to spend any money :-)

I appreciate what your saying .
I've been hearing a lot of good thing about Richard Paul's short shifter .
Just as a note the shifter is no shorter then stock but but shorter throw .I'll let you know how it works out once I get around to installing.

Sure sign of spring for me is that my RX-8 is in my garage, ready to drive, not in storage. I'm soooo happy to have her home!

Sure sign of spring is that peoples tires make a heck of a lot more noise and shift points get MUCH higher
