Talking Thanks

Hello Everyone, This is my first posting. I have been viewing this site since June when I like everyone else thought they were going to take delivery of their pre-order. I received mine on August the 1st. However it did not come as planned. I ordered a titgrey GT with a moonroof, they brought me a titgrey GS. Given the high demand I was unable to get the one I wanted. So I settled for the GS--because I loved the color and wasn't prepared to wait what they said would be a few months for the one I wanted. Oh well, I saved a few bucks.

Your threads have been great!! So far I have jumped into the winter tire group buy. I bought the FRD 30's with 17inch toyo garit HT's. I saved 160.00 bucks. They haven't been totally put to the test yet. However I like what I have see so far.

I also took advantage of the free chassis parts that were being offered by CP racing in tottenham. They put on a triangular strut bar in the front, which replaced the black factory install and placed a ladden tie bar in the back underside. I was amazed at the difference in handling, not to mention the cool factor. I am proud to say I am the first one in North America with these mods, they are a must for someone wishing to increase the horse-power.

Anyways it's about time I started sharing some of my experiences. I will post pictures of the chassis mods as soon as I figire out how to. I have also built a good relationship with the rotary experts at CP racing, I plan on going back for other mods. So I will keep everyone posted with that information. Thanks again.

Hey congrats,

CP racing has done a lot of good work for the RX7 guys. I was a little suprised that there was not much interest when they posted free parts? Please post some pics, I'd really like to see the work they've done.

To attach a picture instead of using the "Post Reply" area at the bottom of the messages, click on the "POST REPLY" button at the bottom far right. It takes you to a different screen. Below where you enter your message, is a "fill in the blank" area where you enter the address of your image. It's size limited, so beware of that too.

I still haven't figured out how to make the image appear on the message.

Doesn't putting that in there void the car's warranty?

warranty

Not only does it not void the factory warranty, we have had interest from dealers who wish to stock the item and offer it on new Rx8s as another performace option.

Could you quantify that "difference in handling" a bit? How did it change things? Can you feel it at both low and high speeds? Please elaborate a bit here... thanks!

As for handling—first in corners at any speed the steering is tight and extremely responsive. I had to learn how to drive the car all over again—it took me a few days to get used to it. Second on the highway changing lanes at high speeds around 180km—200km the car is really stable. I remember going up there to get the mod put on travelling at those speeds thinking man these winter tires really float---on my way back there was no floating whatsoever—that’s when I really felt the difference. How is your borla cat-back exhaust and extreme intake? Is there a big horsepower difference? I’m looking at getting a set up like that myself in the spring.

Re Group Buys - any and all group buys conducted through the RX8Club forum MUST be approved in advance. Otherwise, no discussions of group buys are permitted. For approval, check out the forum's Group Buys section, where it instructs to contact Omicron for approval prior to posting a group buy.
