Tire question.
I'm planning on replacing the tires on my 8 in the next few weeks so I'm doing a bit of homework and have had a few quotes on different brands and all the same size ( 225/45/18 ).
I'm looking at Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus from Costco, an " out the door " price of @ $ 1500.00 I got a bit of a tip regarding a Dunlop tire, it's a model called Direzza DZ 101.
I was told that this Dunlop tire was an excellent all round tire for my 8 and when I price checked they were $ 400.00 cheaper " out the door ". I don't want to put " cheap " tires on my car but I also don't want to spend my hard earned cash on a product if I can find a similar product that basically will do the same job.
Any members out there have any info. regarding this Dunlop tire ??
Thanks from Kelowna.

Well, for a kickoff, the Michelin tires are all seasons while the Dunlop tires are summers so it somewhat comparing apples to oranges.

If you want, depending where you live in BC, I can PM you the way I saved money getting my tires.

Rxeckless any reason not to choose the RE050A or Bridgestone Potenza RE-11?

No idea whatsoever !!
Well I'm not in a panic for tires for my 8 but I will be replacing them before the better weather arrives. Thanks for your input guys, some real good advice came through, sure the cost of tires in the States is much more attractive but my location would make it cost prohibitive.
Nothing quite like the opinions of folks other than the tire manufacturers, I quite enjoyed reading the different opinions on tires on "Tire Rack's " website. Total waste of time really when it comes to tire reviews, one guy gives the Dunlop tire I was interested in top marks all around while another guy says " don't put these tires on your car ".
So no matter which brand of tire you may be interested in everybody has their opinion, some rate them high and others low, regardless of brand. And I won't go to any of the local tire outlets around here and ask for advice, they will tell you what they like and their only interest is selling tires and that's it.
