Tire replacment policy

Tire replacment policy
Does anyone know the tire replacement policy for leased cars from Mazda Credit Canada? I need to buy a set of tires for my 8, and I don't wanna buy the OEM Bridgestones.
I asked the dealership about it and got two different answers: the sales guy said any similar tire is OK but the GM said I had to buy the exact same tire. I don't know who to believe, and I don't know the procedure the dealership goes through when I return the car. Will they bitch about it and fine me or something?
Ideally I'm hoping there's some document that specifically says something about this. Or is it just at the discretion of the dealer?
Thanks!

any tire are good because if you return your car in winter it will be on winter tire, and they will take it like that. As soon as your tire looks good and the are the same size as the stock one, they wont complain.

replacement tires...
As long as they are the same size, temp rating at or better than oem and traction rating at or better than oem you should be fine. Tell the general manager you are dealing with to go fly a kite. The oem dunlop sells for around $327 here locally in Toronto and the a Good Year F1 GS D3 sells for $289. The gy would put the dunlop to shame so go from there. Any reputable tire shop can help you out with decisions.
Good Luck...

I am the General Manager of a dealership in Ontario. Here is what we look for on a lease return regarding tires:
The must be the same tire on all 4 corners the oem size etc., and have a least 4/32nd of tread across the tire. You can get used tires if you wish as long as they are matching. You cannot return the car on winter tires. Having said that, if the dealer accepts the vehicle back on winter tires and signs the termination agreement, then you are off the hook and it becomes the dealers responsibility not yours.

Thanks for all the great response guys!
It's good to know the choice of tires is flexible, as it should be really, hehe...
I live in Toronto by the way. #84racing if I knew you worked at a dealership before I got the car I probably would've gone to your dealership instead, at least you know your 8
