Toronto Area tire shops?
Any good experiences with tire shops in the GTA?
Looking for a better deal and some place that won't scratch/dent the wheels when they install new tires.
Thanks!

They come to your house with the BEST equipment. They can even spoke the weights right in your driveway. They also do nitrogen fill if you care about that. Of course they use torque wrenches. I have chrome rims so I was being very picky. They even used chrome weights!
Order your tires from tirerack.com in the USA and schedule tirebutler.com to put them on for you. 10/10 all around.
You can also go to their shop in TO
Tirerack is cheaper than buying in Canada. I got RE050A pole position tires for roughly C$300 per tire including tax, duty and delivery vs. tiretrends (Canadian) $380 per tire including tax and shipping.
Tirebutler charge was about $120 to mount and balance 4 tires.

with the current strong dollar, it's a really good option to consider.
any chance you remember exactly how much CCRA dinged you for customs, duties and taxes?
thanks for the info!

Duty on the Japanese tires was $40 plus GST and brokerage fees.
I also bought tires for our van so the total is a bit muddled.
If you spend about US$680 plus US$100 shipping figure on handing UPS about C$175, less if you buy US made tires.

Everybody knows Tires23 is the best. Here I just assumed everyone already knew that and went there. They always seem to have the best prices and are gentle with your stuff. They're located by Dixie & 401.

Tires23 experience - phone quote - great price.
Showed up - didn't know anything
Showed up a second time - they wouldn't even acknowledge my existence. Stood at the door of their shop - made eye contact, yelled out - waited 5 minutes then took off.
Bought my RE050APP's elsewhere. Never have I been treated this poorly.
Wouldn't give them the time of day.
I did have a good experience with John at Wheel and Tire Zone.
At the end of the day, you are not going to find a Canadian retailer that can match the US mail order sites. Look to pay from 50-100% more buying tires up here.
