Hey guys. I only joined the forum this week, but got my 8 at at the end of April '04. I don't live in Toronto, but head down there a lot on weekends (only an hour from Kitchener). There are a few 8s here in Kitchener, but I don't see any of them on a regular basis. (mine is winning blue)
I gotta say... being a chick, it's a BLAST to see the guys just stare when you pull up beside them at a stop light.
Sadly, yesterday, only 3 weeks and 1 day after picking up my 8, I got my first speeding ticket. 84 in a 50, and a "community safety zone" to boot.
Anybody going to the Sport Compact Invasion car show in Milton next month?

i'm going to be in toronto next week for a month. I was wondering if there's anything in toronto that i should take advantage of that i couldn't get in the states...like cheaper labor/bodyshop etc?

HK.RX888 - How about "real" beer...just ribbing ya. All Toronto Dealers are have the same price, it's a test that Mazda Canada is trying out. The service cost is about ~$70 Cdn, so no matter where you go it's the same price, so you will need to find a good dealer, Avante is well known here. As for aftermarket parts, well, the selection is very limited to what people have ordered from Japan, I believe that the US would have more selection in that area. Rather than that, we have a pretty good selection of good eats and places to hang out. Welcome to the T.Dot.

haha like labatt blue? i can't believe they're implementing the no indoor smoking law! and the service cost you talking about...what exactly does that include. say i want to get an exhaust installed at avante...how much would that cost me? thx

Richmond Hill, Ontario....big project car for me.. would love to organize some meets. I was one of the organizers for DARKNIGHTS these past 3 years. Unfortunately, some of us have choose to take different paths but I'm organizing alot of events that would definitely be amazing for other 8 owners to come have some fun.

hey guys! well its kinda far from now but planning on getting a RX8 permenatly, after my lease is up for my IS300 (the current car i'm driving). from North York/Richmond Hill working downtown toronto....haven't seen much 8s round here, juss the rare 1 here and there....
been reading alot bout the 8 and saw the mazdaspeed RX8, so i was wondering...is this like a package thing? or do u have to buy all the aftermarket part that is just the name mazdaspeed...? because i saw a article saying mazda is making a special edition mazdaspeed RX8, only 300 worldwide or something so wondering if us Canadians will get a package deal even after the limited edition.....sorry for the long msg guys! thanks!

A Toronto 8 Meet would be great. A Richmond Hill meet would be better hehe. When you get things sorted out, post it and they will come.

I'm actually from Bayview and Elgin Mills area....
I'm a VELOCITY RED..... you'll likely see me driving too and from work on the daily..
Not recently though.. I "JUST" recently got my car out from the shop..
I'm actually going to be organizing a HUGE FREE ADMISSION show ...no bull**** fluff... all hardcore tuner stuff with STRICTLY tuner features in the next 1.5 months..
It's going to be called "FORGED!"
I'll fill you guys in asap!

-Beer, good stuff so drink up :D.
-Smoking, well it is summer so that's not too much of a problem, imagine if it was winter and 25C below.
-Roads, mainly smooth, but you'll be in the middle of construction season. Yes here in T.O. we beleive that hwy construction should be done when everyone is driving, it's a Canadian thing. (Anyone enjoying the one collector lane at Sheppard off the 404?).
