Twyn Parks Drive

Found a recommendation for a driving road the other day from VWVortex and I went to check it out. Twyn Rivers Drive is near the Toronto zoo. Closest intersection is Meadowvale and Sheppard. For those of you in the GTA, it's worth checking out. Kinda scary at night though....

I have a video of it. Not the best quality since it's at night. It does give you an idea of the area though.

The video is taken while driving westbound. That last hill.... please take it in 2nd if you drive there. Third gear was no good :D

That is a very nice road for driving. However, there are a few one lane bridges that prevent spirited driving to be done safely. There are some idiots who book it through those bridges without really checking to see if there is another car on the other side.

I've driven that numerous times. It's fun, but very short, and during the day you'll often find yourself stuck behind a Corolla or a minivan doing 10km/h around the last corner heading westbound. That steep uphill right turn bend.

The trick to getting a clean run is to use the little parking lot at Twyn Rivers & Meadowvale as your pitlane. Stop there and leave at least a 45 seconds gap between you and the last slowpoke that drove by. The first residential street on the other end (Ashwood Gate) has a posh cul-de-sac, perfect for turning around. Stop at Ashwood Gate and let the traffic clear out before you rejoin Twyn Rivers for another run in the opposite direction.

I live close by and have driven this road a million times. It's a fun drive but don't get too crazy. It's a stretch of green space intended for hiking. It always pisses me off when I see idiots zoom over that metal bridge at full speed. It's a f-cking park, slow the hell down.

Yeah. It's a little too scary for me to push that hard anyway. I mean, I'm all for driving fast but only if it's not gonna kill me or other people.
