Upgrades, recalls, and TSB in Canada.
Hi all.
I was just wondering if anyone in the Montreal area has experienced problems getting recall/update info from their dealer. Everytime I call the service, they run my serial # and tell me that there is no work to be done on the car.
Yet, on this board, I read about all kinds of work that are mandated by the factory.
Anyone else experience this?

That is quite possible...
Service bulletins are symptom related fixes (you go in complaining about a specific noise, or problem - they use the bulletin and fix it)
Recalls would show up against your VIN (and likely you aren't included in any recall campaigns)
The dealer doesn't just fix stuff because there is a service bulletin out on it. Research the bulletins (www.finishlineperformance.com) and if you have any symptoms/problems as mentioned, print it out and bring it in.
Good luck!

As 84Racing mentioned, the dealers are aware of the recalls but don't have the equipment/materials for the fix yet. Mazda Canada is supposed to be sending out recall letters to us at the end of Aug.
If it's for the flashes, then that's a different story. Try calling in and say that you got a CEL or had a REALLY hard time starting.

But in the end if you're not having a problem and the fix is covered under warranty, let the bad parts run as long as possible. When they finally go closer to the end of you warranty, you can go further without paying for replacement parts. This is just plain logical.
However, if you have those problems, that's a 180 degree about face.
