Used 2009 Blue RX-8 GT
What do you guys think? I'm going to call the guy tomorrow to set up a time to check it out.
$21,500 for a 2009 GT and has 7800km.
It's 1 year old, Manual 6-speed transmission, AC, pl, pw, spoiler, 17inch bridgestone potenzas on factory black alloy rims, Recaro leather seats, Bose premium stereo with 6 CD in-dash changer, keyless entry, tinted windows, built in bluetooth & garage door openers, all service up to date with manufacturer warranty remaining to 160km.
Has hail damage on it though and it's being fixed and will add $5000 to the price or I can just get it for $21,500 without the hail fix.

something doesnt add up here....is this a GT or an R3? the wheel size isnt right. you claim its a GT, but the fact that you say it has black alloys, factory spoiler, recaros, and no mention of a sunroof makes me think this is an R3, but they have 19" black wheels. also, even a GT would have 18" wheels but they are silver/light grey whatever. so if they are 17" wheels someone has changed them out for some reason....look into that.
the price does seem sort of okay....but look into the cost of repairing hail damage. these cars have an alluminum hood and possibly fenders....i cant remmeber for sure about the fenders right now. also, alot of the special colours on paint are VERY expensive...i know VR is crazy expensive paint, this new blue colour could be the same. so look into it before you buy!!!!
also, although the price is very low, rx8s depreciate like crazy anyways, so look into what other used 09 GTs (or possibly R3s) go for with relatively low mileage.
good luck

Is this the one you're looking into?

That's actually a really good price and all... but there must be some reason they want to get rid of it so fast. I'd look into that a little more, make sure they've done all the maintenance etc.
There's a guy in Lethbridge selling a 2006 Copper Red Shinka for $20,000, just an example to compare price.

I'd be very iffy on this....especailly cause that add mradam posted is clearly a private sale....
and also mradam, if the car only has 7800km on it there wont be any service needed yet. although i would hope the oils been changed but its not on mazdas maintence menu until 8k

Oh, right. Silly low kms... Well anyway, if that is the one I'd really be wanting to find out why they're trying to get rid of it so fast. It would be odd if they were just that serious up for money (really, who buys a car for $40,000+ and sells it for half a year later?).

I bought mine (2006 GT) used with 8000km on it in 2007 for $22k off some polish guy who got deported (that's the story anyways). List price at the time was $52k. Turns out the car was written off... some guy crashed it at 6500k.
So yea, look into it, you don't know what they're trying to hide. For me everything worked out, the took my $22k offer and I haven't had ANY problems with it, except the fuel pump failing this spring which is a known problem anyways and likely not related.

I don't know if it's the picture, but look at the colour of the hood in relation to the rest of the body around it, the nose for example. Could this have been an accident vehicle? Doesn't look like original paint on the hood. Rest of the pictures look great though.
Either way, if repair was scheduled for the 10th, it's getting fixed and the $21K isn't an option anymore.

I'll buy it !
I would jump all over that deal in a Hell of a hurry pal ! so let's say you let them do the bodywork that takes your price up to $ 26,500 that's an average of ten thousand dollars below market price.
There is eleven 8's advertised in the Vancouver area ( all 2009 models ) some are Shinka's some are GT's the highest price is $ 51,900 and the lowest price is $ 39,900.
At $ 21,500.00 ( as is ) if you don't go for the deal I will but only after running a CARFAX and making sure there is no warranty issues. My buddy owns an auto body shop and for a grand cash he will fix any " hail damage ".

I agree with what you said " there must be some reason they want to get rid of it so fast " nobody like nobody is going to buy a car for @ 55k then attempt to flog it off a year later for 21k. As they say " if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is " but in any event it certainly is worth checking out.
