Video from TMP last summer

This is a video that I and 2 friends put together over two days at Toronto Motorsports park. We had a Mazdaspeed6 (me), an S2K and a Forester XT (fastest of the bunch around the track). We also did the Advanced Driver training (bearded guy in the video) which was well worth it! Part of the intent of the video was to let people know how much fun it is to track your car and get more people coming out.

Comments welcome!

How much track time did you get with the school? Do they do classroom / skidpad / track?

TMP runs their own track days. From what I remember you can choose to simply do lapping or get in car instruction: http://www.torontomotorsportspark.com/raceway/adt.html

If you are looking for a school at the Mosport GP. The BMW Trillium Chapter is doing a two day + optional open lapping Friday, April 29th - 1 May. They are also doing a Club Racing school at the same time.

Another option is the Saab School posted on here as well.

I have never been to TMP, looking to maybe do a lapping day there.

That's correct. TMP is about $130 to do open lapping from 10am-5pm and another $75 for instruction. That includes some classroom time in the beginning and then Terry takes your car around the track to show you line, driving position, etc and then you go around with him. He was pretty much there all day and you could pull him in your car at any point to fine tune things throughout the day. Not a bad value.

I also did the Formula 2000 racing school at Mosport. Much more expensive but a massive thrill!!

Yeah the Formula 2000 school at the DDT is expensive. Does TMP have a skid pad to play around on?

Really surprised that the Forester XT was the fastest since TMP is quite the tight course. What mods does the XT have?

Still love TMP, great tarmac and best bang for the buck especially on Wednesday eves for $60.00 5 pm to sunset. It would be a perfect track if it had elevations changes but all in all I'd go there anytime over Shannonville or DDT IMHO. Also no skid pad but a drag strip for those into that.

I don't know the make of each part but he's done suspension and sway bars for grip but the power is what makes him faster. We also did a chase video with the S2K and the Forester would pull away on the two straights and the S2K would catch him through the corners. For power he has a turboback exhaust, STI intercooler and the Cobb AP. The Cobb made a HUGE difference.

The Forester is getting cloe to 300 crank horsepower - not sure what he's getting at the wheels. It's basically an STI engine with a smaller turbo. After putting in his turbo-back exhaust and Cobb AP, the pull he gets is incredible.

We'll see how close I can get after I put in my ATP downpipe with high-flow cat, Cobb AP and Cobb BPV so I can actually get the 15psi from the turbo.

Can;t wait to get back to the track!
