What Am I Missing From Dealer?

What Am I Missing From Dealer?
Now I'm freaking out, thinking maybe I didn't get all the parts from the dealership that I should have when I bought my 2007 GT 6MT /w Performance Package in Ottawa this summer.
The car I bought was in the showroom with the Mazdaspeed wheels. Somebody said that I should have received the OEM wheels also. Or if the OEM wheels were on it, I should have gotten the Mazdaspeed ones. Is this true?
Now that I think of it, I didn't get the black "Renesis" panel in the engine compartment. Because the car had the CAI installed ... and knowing so little about engines ... I figured the panel had been removed because it didn't fit with the CAI. Then again, it wasn't given to me either.
And should I have received the stock air intake since the mazdaspeed CAI was on?
I don't know if packages vary from dealer to dealer but if not, I should be entitled to these parts (esp. wheels, if true!) right?

I remember I ask that exact same question when I was purchasing my 8. I went with the -$3000 of the price instead of the performance stuff.
But they said you should get the stock intake and engine cover, but not the stock wheels.
I'm sure you might be able to get them to give you the stock parts, just depends on how much of a fuss you put up.
And make sure you go straight to the manager first, not the salesperson.

Footman has it right. I think dealers are trying to make up their own deals when it comes to the performance package.
Bottom line, you buy an rx8, negotiate a price, buy car, get performance package for free. The performance package really isn't a bargaining chip for the dealership because it doesn't come from the dealership. It's a Mazda Canada incentive that has nothing to do with the dealer or price of the car.

Thanks for the support, guys.
I sent an email to the sales manager and a voice message to my sales person. I found a pdf pamphlet that advertises the Performance Package and what interested me was the fine print that indicated that all parts might not be available for installation BEFORE April but owners could come in after that for installation. That would imply that if you got the package before April, you left with stock parts and when you returned for installation, you got the package parts and kept the others. So just because my car came with some performance parts already installed shouldn't mean I don't get the original parts, including OEM wheels.
At least that's my fuzzy logic.
I'll keep you posted and thanks again.

I was wrong (again)
No dice. I feel like an idiot yet again. Went to mazda in London after work and talked to sales about the VR /w performance package. I asked him, if I bought this car here, would I get the OEM wheels in addition to the already installed mazdaspeed ones? No. Would I get the stock intake? No. The only other thing is the "Renesis" panel which (he says) doesn't fit with the CAI, although I would still like it.
So, very sorry to bug you guys with this crap and hope you don't think I'm a complete dolt (ie. a partial dolt, perhaps).
Thanks.

You should get 2 sets of rims because you actually paid for those stander one or anything that comes with the pre-performance pkg upgrade.
The rims in the performance package is what the factory offers so it is a additional insentive. I think Dealer pulled a fast one on you.

Yeah if the performance package comes as a perk from Mazda Canada then it should be of no cost to the dealer, and even the installation the dealer would just bill Mazda Canada. So it shouldn't be a part of the negotiation at all. You should even be able to take the car stock and then put the performance package in the trunk and drive away, then sell the parts for money :p

Alright ... I guess I will keep looking into this and contact Mazda Canada if I haven't heard back from the dealer in a while or if the answer is not satisfactory.
I'll let you all know what happens.

Just to confirm, I got the Mazdaspeed performance kit, with the MS CAI installed. The dealer put the stock airbox in the trunk when they were done. The rims are apparently on back order, but when they come in I get both sets. This is the way it should be. Hope that helps,
Nick

yes, you should be getting everything back!
#1 incase you have to go back to stock intake.(too loud or CEL)
#2 the wheels should come with the car
# the cover will fit with the MS cai i believe....

I just sent an email to Mazda Canada.
This is frustrating, I feel like I can't get a straight answer. A bunch of you are implying I should get the wheels (the most important) as well as the other parts. I don't know who to belive (no offence) but I will keep inquiring and fighting for what I deserve.
Thanks a lot for all your comments, really appreciate it.

I appreciate anyone posting in this thread but ... I wouldn't mind if it just died for a bit ... until I get a final answer. Feel like I've been whining like a sissy. Just going through early-buyers jitters I think.
so thannks for the 8-inspired support and let me regain my manhood. Maybe with beer.

Hey Zerobia,
When I got my 07 VR MT with the performance package I got the OEM wheels, the CAI and the stock intake, the black Renesis engine cover (which is hanging on my wall ).
(Banks Mazda Charing Cross)
Hope you can get this resolved

Thanks. Be nice to have the rims for the winter and i was thinking just the same thing about hanging the panel. Sucks that all this stuff is in Ottawa and I'm in London.

Hey zerobio,
Have you tried calling Bank Mazda where you got the car? I'm not sure it'd help you... I just tried calling pretending to be a new buyer and asking if they would give me the stock rims and airbox with the package, and they said definitely not. I told them that others who got the perf package before the parts were available got to keep their rims after they were installed later, but Bank said they wouldn't do that.
I'd still keep trying though. Nothing on their flyer indicates you can't keep the old parts.
I'm also pretty sure the stock engine covers fits over the intake.
