What I did on my spring vacation
Wife, myself and two cats motored from Saskatoon to Vancouver and back and only spotted four 8's -- one (red) on the Hope-Vancouver highway, and three more (red, silver and grey), on Granville Island, where we stayed for a few days. Quite surprised there weren't more to be seen. Saw more Jags than RX-8s in fact. And a sh!tload of Mustangs, numerous Porches and untold numbers of Mercedes, Lexi, blah blah blah. Neatest car I spotted by far was a beautifully restored black Studebaker 63 Avanti coupe (I think -- I'm not a Studebaker expert). Also passed a string of vintage T-Birds taking the air on the Coquihalla highway. You let a good thing get away, Ford!
Made it back home with no speeding tickets, though many were deserved.

I just did a road trip with the family from Calgary to Regina and back. God, that's a boring drive!
Anyway, I didn't see any RX8's on the trip. I did be a couple hundred Mustangs. I swear that in Regina you can own a pick-up or a Mustang...NOTHING ELSE!

I'm the red one that you saw. I only saw one cop with a radar gun on my way back from Kamloops and I passed him going 135 and he didn't even try to flag me over...

And regarding the drive to Regina -- it's boring, all right. Saskatoon is no different, really. What I do to make it interesting is pass every vehicle I see.

Later in the summer the crops can look quite nice... I have a larger appreciation for them after working on farms for a couple of years when i was younger, but yes, excessive speeding is the way to make that drive fun....

I can't do that driving a mini-van with the kids and more importantly...the wife!

It helps that the speedometer can't be observed from the passenger seat. Even so, my wife doesn't seem to mind high speeds. She just doesn't know HOW high.

Yes, the hidden speedo is a great feature on the car. My wife has already commented on how much she doesn't like it! :D
