What made you choose RX8?
#26
Thanks everybody for replies.
It's basically as I thought: 4 seats, engine & "uniqueness".
And somebody mentioned "great rx8club.com community" - this is actually one of major deciding factors for me: nowadays Internet is great source of information for all kinds of repairs and mods, and I can't imagine owning car without a good "club" support.
Anyway, RX8 will be on top of my list.
I was thinking of leasing one, or take over someone's lease, so if anybody knows of any good deals (around Toronto area) - please let me know. Thanks.

lol no! Not everybody has mad cash to spend on simple installs.
I don't think I'm going tonight. York cops are on high alert lately. I don't want to risk being hassled. That and it's a heck of a drive to look at some LEDs.

lol that's right and I got them by not spending money having all of it installed. :P
No offense to any shop anywhere but if I can install something myself, I certainly will. It's all just bolt-ons.

Ya true, I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm gonna start doing my own oil changes now, but dame the K and N stock oil filter is ridiculously expensive, guess I'll be sticking with Mazda oil filters. 4 bucks vs 15

Guiness is good, its an acquired taste, I like it, WCS and DarKBrew (hence the name) swear by it. Keep your phone on qtwre, call me if you are coming out. Im headin out in an hour or two, meeting up with Footman and another rx8 member. Dont know if turboeight is showing up, probably will, he works by there.
WCS is just expressing pent up frustration cause of the awesome meet hes gonna miss out on next weekend.

Back on track. Why did I choose this car? I was looking at a lot of cars, but the 8 stood out the most. The unique engine, the high revs, the cheap insurance, since insurance considers in as a family sedan, the rareness. How many 8s did you see today, and then compare it to the number of g35s, 335, z, rsx you saw today. Exactly. Its a great community. More so present in the stateside, but hey, we're working on it. https://www.rx8club.com/canada-forum-35/official-spring-install-meet-r-p-m-140093/ , lol, I'm advertising this meet everywhere, I think I should get a newspaper ad, or vinyl it on my car. But ya, no other car was more appealing to me than the eight, but its no easy car, the 8 requires attention. From watching the oil level, to maintenance, to redlining every day.

Reasons why i chose this car.
1.) It Burns gas like a v8
2.) It depreciated like an American car
3.) It has as much Torque and power as my lawn mower
okay okay...im being sarcastic, but those above points are true.
Unique look / rotory engine/ packge it provided IE: 4 doors and still being considered a coupe. Superb handling / Price.
I wont lie, i was really into getting a 350Z, but i simply couldnt have afforded it. Now that i can afford one, i still think i would have gone with the 8 again. I love the car!

Yes the 350Z is a nice car, with the power and all. But I just thing a power car like is too smal, I perfer the body of the G35 for the Z. Dont get me started on the G35, other than the fact its everywhere, I hate those headlights, remind me of the bug eyed WRX year. Other crappy thing about the Z is that you HAVE to get the GPS, or you have that stupid cubby hole in the middle of your centre console. Suxors.
