I use on tap Guinness.

Seriously though, I use oil that I shouldn't because Mazda wouldn't accept any engine warranty issues if I had any in the next 74,000 kms if they knew what I used...

It comes in grey bottles and I have to buy the filters in the States...

Yeah, don't use synthetic or at least don't let Mazda catch you using synthetic engine oils. I have heard or seen anything from Mazda about using synthetic differential or transmission oils though.

freshly clubbed seal oil works great for me... but if you can't get that
(it has to be fresh)... then I'd suggest castrol gtx 5w20... or whateveryou feel like. pretty much what the manual says..........

That's a long discussion.

FYI, don't take advice from people who don't back up their opinions with facts. Do your own research and you'll be able to decide what your 8 needs.

If you wish to keep your warranty intact use a geniune Mazda oil filter and non synthetic 5W20 oil. Seems silly to waste a 7yr warranty because someone thinks they know better than the people who built it.

Seems silly to think that the recommendations from the people who built it is what actually ends up on the owner's manual
