best thing to do is to look around at the dealerships around you - calling doesn't really help as i've gotten more BS than info over the phone. seems like they are willing to say anything to get your deposit down though once you're in the showroom.

thanks, it's a titanium grey GT =)
I haven't got any accessories yet but plan on getting the usual mudguards/rotary accents (but no rear or lip spoilers) and of course the pretty fins for the side grilles =)
do you know if there's a wait time for ordering those accessories? or dealers usually have them in stock?
yea I know what you're talking about, the one during my test drive vibrated quite a bit at stop lights like I can hear the dash vibrating.... was kinda put off by it but I thought it was because we were pushing it and it was a brand new car (still had the hood stickers on)... geez I hope that doesn't happen with the one I'm getting...
is your dealer going to do anything about the vibration? it seems to be it might just be a squeaky dashboard or loose trim which the dealer might be able to tighten for you??

cool... how long did u wait for your Titanium GT ??
i actually dont know much about mazda and their rotary stuffs...
i used to drive toyota and honda's . . . not sure about thoes accessories.. but i would say they always need to order them...

so u test drove the 8 at Wolfe mazda ? what color was the car that u test drove ? and was it manual ??
haha.. so how come you suddenly changed your mind to get a manual ? u used to be an auto driver ?? and hey i tell you, you made the right choice... u gotta go with stick shift with this car !!!

about the vibration.. i have checked other forums and it should likely be normal... at least i hope it is...
i can feel the vibration just by sitting in my car... but the dash and panels are okay.. not making any noise for now =D

anyway.. im bringing my car in this friday...
cos i think my car also got imbalanced-wheels...
so frustrating... car is shaking real bad when going at higher speed...

and how 's the mileage for your car ?? let me know how many km's u got for your first tank of oil =D

good luck... chat later

The dealers have them in stock usually. I bought the splash guards, rotary accents, and winter floor mats 1 week after picking up my car in July (the first RX-8s were only delivered 1 week before) and they already had all the accessories in stock.

Gordon

I just got home with my rx8
I changed my mind to a manual cause when I thought about it, I'm paying the same price with an automatic, YET I'm getting 25% LESS power and a detuned engine (one less exhaust port) and when they come out with a better auto trans next yr that can handle the power, my 198hp 4 speed auto is gonna be next to worthless! (ok I'm really sorry to say this if you're an auto driver, but I can still congrat you for getting something you can just put in D and drive, as I wished I could do when I stalled a million times on the way home)
GOD I should've asked my friend to drive it home for me first... I think I stalled it 20 times on the way home.... and then I accidentally did a clutchless up shift
argh oh well got the 6 yr extended warrenty and it better pay off hahaha
well they had some accessories in stock but there are a few I have to order but they should take a week and one (the footlamps) that's gonna take until april!
the front and rear rotary crests, cargo tray and chrome exhaust garnish came to about 750 bucks after the 15% off but I still need to get those cool fins for the side gills and ALL WEATHER FLOOR MATS
boy, after driving a performance car for the first time (I've driven SUVs and big sedans ever since I got my licence), I have a new level of admiration for race car drivers. I mean even in a straight line it's not just about stepping on the gas. It was hard enough for me to stop and go without spinning the rear wheels and making them hop or stalling the car, I wonder how long it'd take me to get the max performace from my car lol

edit: It took me just 2 days to get the car from order to delivery
and shouldn't they have balanced your wheels at PDI? and yea I'll keep you posted on the mileage but my trade in was a land rover discovery and I doubt anything would chug as much premium and return as little hp as that thing :D and yea it'd be cool if they have a meet soon, probably in the summer when there are more RX8s around
oh and the manual one with the vibration that I test drove was a Red one still with the hood stickers on (I think it still has them on in the lot at wolfe)

hey.. good for you.. at least u get your new toy with something (transmission) totally new that you will fall in love with...

hehe.. you could have asked me to drive the car for you =P

the 8 has quite tight and sensitive clutch... so its kinda hard for you at first ??
but dont worry.. you will become much better soon . . practice makes perfect... just dont let go of the clutch too quick... and give it extra gas.. then you will be fine =D

good-luck... so how many Km's on the car when you got it?? like 7-8 km's ??

i wish they would go through PDI more carefully...

anyway.. wheel balancing is just a guess.. it could be something more serious.. so i will find out what went wrong this friday

for now, enjoy your new cool ride !!! =)
