Yep! Should have stayed home. Made it downtown in an 1hr 15min instead of the usual 30mins but only due to the fact that traffic was rather light. Unfortunately I had to spend another 20 mins to park because my damn outdoor parking lot did not clean their lot. almost 5" of snow so you can imagine how I struggled...BLAH!

How did you manage your 8 through the drive and your brutal parking conditions? Any driving tips? hehe DCS/TCS on or off through the heavy parts of the snow? Also, just for fun, post your morning 8 pics! haha

Mine is parked in the street and snowed in.

Im usually a road warrior and will go through any conditions, but there is lots of snow and its icy, plus I have to go through a highway (hwy 30) which is said to have ZERO visibility this morning.

I think I`ll just stay home. Luckily I can work from home, so...

Oh and also... my TCS/ebrake/ABS lights have been comming on lately, think its a wheel sensor. Im not going on ice.

I kicked my Camry out of the garage and put my 8 in there. I think I'm feeling some resentment from there =\

I left hte 8 int he driveway today and drove my truck instead. Up in Stouffville we got the full 15cm just overnight. I leve the 8 at home when I have snow higher that the wheel centres. My street wasn't plowed at all either so I would have had to make it out the driveway down 300m of unplowed road, stop for a stopsign, then make a left onto another unplowed street. I figured it wasn't worth the hassle. Especially since I had to go all the way to Bronte Rd. in Oakville.

Yes, the morning commute really sucked. What should have taken me 30min's ended up taking me 1hr25min's.
Partly my mistake for giving people too much credit when it comes to these conditions. The 404 was crawling. I got off on Elgin Mills because all I could see were brake lights.
Went down Leslie all the way to work. Should have done that in the first place. Would have gotten down quicker.
Now I have to stay an extra 30min's just to cover my lateness.

Where is this Global warming people keep talking about?!

I would've made it to work a lot sooner if the street plows hadn't snowed in the exit to my condo garage. I had to get my portable shovel out and dig out a path. Makes me wonder what the condo fees are for if I'm doing their job.

Well, I can't really tell my boss "I didn't want to risk my RX-8 so I'm gonna work from home today!", although it would have been nice to relax and work from home today! lol

Not only did I go to work (in Markham) I actually picked up a co-worker along the way.

BTW - 4 winters now and I've never been stuck nor have I ever stayed at home because of the weather.

When I bought my RX-8 in august last year, I thought I could easily drive it in winter. After all, I've seen plenty of mustangs and BMWs out there in winter, and they are all RWD performance cars. And last year's winter had only little snow, so I'd expect the same this year...

But I can always count on nature to slap me in the face with a quantity of snow that we haven't seen for the past 32 years... (i live in montreal, quebec)

My car is less than a year old, and I got multiple damages to it already... a slightly cracked front lip, slightly deformed back bumper, a dent on the side door, a caved-in plastic cover where my wipers are ... and hours after hours of fun being stuck in snow.

Its decided, my next car is a big-*** polluting SUV (or a tank, if I can afford one). If nature is attacking me with snow, I'm gonna counter-attack with global warming!

hehehehe

Well I'm gonna wax my car tomorrow. Bought a bottle of NXT from Seattle. Also gonna trim the backyard trees on saturday...

I don't envy you guys in Southwestern Ont. My folks are visiting there now. They will be happy to return here in time for cherry blossoms next week. heh!

Yup, I drove the 8 today in Calgary as well... 10 degrees out with no snow on the road (or grass). Great day for driving... maybe I should think about putting on summer tires soon.
