I hate to say this but try doing a search on all your topics. As far as I know there isn;t a serperate Alberta RX8 site....most people hang out in the section of this site. Do a search on some of your topics and then come back with more specific questions.

Rotten there is a separate alberta rx8 site but your not invited
But yea, seriously, I think there was a thread just yesterday on the MS8 (don't hold your breath basically)
Couple of keywords to search: mileage (you'll get a million hits), canada price, renesis engine

We do have rx8 meets in Calgary every so often ... our last one (where people showed up ... sorry Slowlude) was in the summer and was a fun cruise to K-country. We really should have more, eh ... like those guys in Toronto where it's like every week!
You think our piddly Canada forum is too big? oh man you should see the So Cal or Texas one. Just check back here for announcements on meets and that kind of thing. Besides, most of the members here are from either Calgary, Edmonton, GTA, Montreal, Winnipeg and Vancouver ... so it's not like it's totally East or West coast biased.

Oh, all right, I'll help him out.
1. Around 350 km a tank, but I'm still running in.
2. Yes. More or less, now that they've been around for three years. Buy new.
3. MS8 is a big maybe, but not for a while, from what I can gather from the other forums. Get what you need at the time that you need it.
I gather there aren't enough people with RX-8s in Canada, to begin with, to warrant their own city's website; it's not like you own a Honda Civic where there are thousands of them crawling all over the place. The Canada forum seems to be friendly enough here to start with, but then again, I'm also new here...

It's bullshit....People compare published gas figures for some cars and the real world gas figures for the RX8. Most vehicles out there don;t return the gas mileage stated in their marketing materials. There is a good articcle in the latest Car and Driver about that very topic. I also think people expect that because the RX8 has a small engine that it should have huge gas mileage.
If you get 17-19 mpg from an RX8, I think that is just fine. Ask soe of these people who drive Mustang GT's or Hemi CHargers what they get for gas mileage.

350-400 per tank is reasonable. It means you can drive for three hours and go get gas and take a break/use the bathroom, which is decent and healthy for North American long distance driving.
The S2000 is no gas sipper, that's for sure. That, and you have all those cams, valves, lifters, and whatnot rolling around at high RPMs to worry about.
I say if you buy more than four cylinders and you get awful mileage, then you get what's coming to you. Come on - it's a V8 - what did you expect it to do? Make fresh water exhaust?

i know i get 350-380 on a full tank.. but when it says im empty i actually still ahve like 8 liters of gas left...
we live in canada... and everyone keeps telling me to get like a wrx sti or something...
but i just cant get myself too...haha. rx8 is sooo much nicer looking!!!
when i get my rx8... it will be a car i drive everyday even in the heavy winter days..
rx8 has traction control so it should make it really easy
another thing people warn me is the rotary reliablity... but as long as its under warranty im not really affraid

The bigger issue with the RX8 is how you drive it. Many have found that the RX8 is not a good car for heavy traffic. This is where it gets the worst gas mileage. Some have said that you need to keep it bekow 4000rpm to get good gas mileage...I haven;t found this to be true. Its about the same if I'm running around at 3200rpm as it is if I'm running arouns at 4200rpm.
I have even found that when I've done some highway cruises with lots of redline passing (meets) I still get good gas mileage....but crawling along in rush hour traffic sucks the gas.
I find that how much I get to a tank is all over the place because of these factors. In the winter (winter tires) in rush hous traffic I get about 280 kms to the tank. In the spring, summer and fall (summer tires) I have gotten over 400km on the highway...and I have never just gone 100km/hr....I find that too difficult to stay out of the gas.

Let's just put it this way ... if you can afford the car, you can afford the gas. That's a secondary factor. If you want super gas mileage get VW TDI Jetta with 41mpg or something insane. For the most part, people bought this car because of it's styling, excellent performance and rotary engine.
ha ha ... I agree with Rotten on that one summer cruise we did ... I was in the 5000-6500 range when we were cruising and remember thinking to myself "Damn ... this tank of gas is going to suck". Turned out that I got the best ever mileage ... 445.5km!

i was thinking the red becuase i love the red and black interior
but i really liked the yellow one but they dont make them yellow anymore...
i would get black but i already have a black s2000...
so my choices are between red and white

BlueFrenzy already knows that the V-Red cars are the fastest. If you by a Blue one he won't have that part of town to himself anymore...
Besides Blue...I have a few subtile differences on my car...the color matched strakes and now my new rear rotary reflector.
Oh yeah..here's also a pic of the window tint I got since that last meet.

See ... 4doorj, as you may already know ... VR folks are delusional (shhh ... it's a secret but they secretly wish that the red color gives them powers like the Ferrari).
yea, I saw the pics from the other side regarding your foglight. Not bad. You going to do the puddle lights? I just got mine but haven't installed it yet.
