Well, since I've already answered 3 new winter driving threads today, you're going to get the snippy answer - please do a search!
We have discussed this issue extensively since October, and the answers are easily found - just search here and in the Wheels/Tires forum sections for "winter tire" or "winter wheels" and you'll find lots of threads that will more than answer your question.
Once you have done some of the homework, please feel free to ask any additional questions you might have!
Regards,
Gordon
OK, OK - here is one of the earlier threads about winter driving - in it, I posted a link to an extensive thread with answers to your question. Also, search using my forumID and the term "winter" to find a bunch of the relevant threads quickly.

Re: Winter driving
Dammit! I just noticed that the thread I linked to above was a response to you over in the RX-8 discussion section!
New to this forum, but not to forums in general, I'd bet - and this forum has several rules like most. Among them, One - do a search before posting a likely-to-be-commonly-asked question. Two - NO CROSS-POSTING the same question/topic in multiple forum sections!!!
Regards,
Gordon

Whoa.
This is the "real" smapdi636 here. I did not write this message.
I was suprised when I got a reply notification to this topic this morning in my email. I'm thinking, "I didn't subscribe to this thread".
Then when I saw my name as the author...
Anyways, something is screwed up on the boards. As I said, I did not write the original message...
