Yeah, I can relate. I only finally sold my MX3 back in June, got the 8 a little more than a month later.
It just goes to show how great the 8 really is. Mazda has done a phenominal job, they just need to finish the last touches (the few that there are, will hopefully be fixed for the 2005 model year) and bring back the hp..
As far as resale? Well, Even between Ford Mustangs, for example there isn't a whole lot of difference in resale between model years, even though the hp is often significantly changed.
I especially think if Mazda redoes the ECU on our 8's to whatever the new cars come out to be, we'll all have Zero to worry about when it comes to resale. Maybe they'll even go as far as Ford did for the 2003 Mustang SVT owners, and re-chip us, and give us a new downpipe, midpipe & catback, which can handle better temps? I can dream right?
