Winter Tires in Summer?
I know it's summer...I just have a question about winter tires. I'm planning out my finances...balancing the must haves to the just-for-fun haves, where the latter is everyone?s favourite one :D
Has anyone heard of Granite HT winter tires? This is the type of tire that my dealer is offering for winter tires. I haven't heard of this brand and wonder if anyone has used them in winter. Yay or Nay?

I assume that you are looking at Toyo Garrit HT winter tires, which many forum members have. I like them on my car, and bought a set for my wife's car.
The size I have is 215/55R17

mdmaclean - So I take it you drive in winter with your 8, how is it with these snowtires? I'm got a quote for $1600 + taxes for rims and tires for my 8, what do you think?

Please do a search of the Canada forum section for "winter tires" and/or "winter wheels". There's a bunch of threads from last fall where we discuss what to use and where to get it - also, where we've posted what we got. That should provide all the background material you need! Feel free to ask any questions you have after reading some of those threads.
