I just spoke with a dealer in the TO area for winter tire packages. He didn't know what the tire pressure sensor system was all about.

I'm new to having to use winter tires, but my understanding is that whatever tires/rims go on in the winter requre an OE TPS system, no?

Also, if anyone's got a good place for winter tire packages, other than a dealer, please let me know.

First of all, I don't believe that our Canadian RX8s have the TPS system, you can check that out with others who are more knowledeable. I just arranged to get the same winter package that Talon Tire in Montreal is offerring from Steelcase Tire and Mags ( 2 blocks north of Steeles off Woodbine ) ie Toyo Garit HT 215/55-17 mounted on FRD 6 Mags for $1500.00 plus taxes mounted, balanced, and hand torqued installed. Its a little more expensive then getting them shipped in from Montreal but I didn't want to go through the bother of changing over the wheels myself and I have dealt with Steelcase for years and they stand behind everything 100 %. I was going to post it when I saw your message but I am a novice at this and just feeling my way through

TPMS is on US cars only. You folks get other things including DRLs and headlight washers that we don't.
