Worst-selling car in Canada 2010: RX-8
The RX-8 has the dubious distinction of being the worst-selling car in Canada in 2010 with only 99 units sold. Congratulations! We are now truly one of a kind!

Has anyone going through the entire list?
There are alot of cars on that list!
It's no surprise the economy has influenced alot on the car buying market. People are keeping their cars longer.
Alot of people are demanding alot from their cars nowadays. It's sad to see really. They want all the bells and whistles for practically no money. At the same time this makes our roads less safe. Because now you're looking out for the people playing around with their in car entertainment centers.
It's going to be tough to see new cars that are "stripped". Anymore tech in the car, and it'll practically drive itself.

That's why I hope the next RX won't be chock full of techno-wizardry. I just want to focus on the driving. But unfortunately, it probably will go that way due to "popular demand" and to appeal to more buyers in general.
Hence, my next car is a tough call, either the new 2015 Elise or the next RX.

The Rx-8 isn't a car for the masses, it doesn't appeal to the majority of people, it even doesn't to most sportscar enthousiasts. Most are affraid of the rotary, the fuel and oil consumption, and if anything, want more power, or just the lack of low end torque that would sell most people on a car by pushing them back into the seat.
As practical as Mazda made the Rx-8, it's still only for those that know what they want, know what they're getting into, and know that the Rx is all about. It'll never be a best seller, even Mazda knows this, but it stands as Mazda's staple, and keeps it to the roots of what they feel a sports car should be...those of us that sit in our cars and have a smile understands exactly that this is.

Please dont take anything MSN/SYMPATICO or any of these people print as gospel. They numbers are usually no where near the factual monthly numbers that come out of actual manufacturors RDR (retail deliveries reported) reports.

This an actual report furnished to Desrosiers from the Manufacturors in Canada, but it dosnt break it out by model

This is just a statistic. At this number, RX-8 sales are close to that of a limited production exotic! I love the car. Owned the car for nearly 5 years now. 48K, no problems. Replaced plugs, wires, coils recently. Also fixed airbag rattle (TSB). It drives like nothing on the road.

Depends on the person. I haven't driven the 1 series, but I have the 3, 5, 6 and 7, some Mercedes and Porsches, and I'm just really not a German sports car person. It was neat to be a valet driver for a while, really gave me a good feel of the cars out there. Did some systems on two 3 series as well. One day I drove down a Boxter and right after, jumped into a 2.5 Rabbit, I actually liked the Rabbit way better the the Boxter. It's not always about price and features.

Well this doesn't surprise me.... I have to say my 8 is the worst car I've ever driven in the winter, despite winter tires. And yes, I drove a RWD in the winter before and it wasn't half as bad. 20L/100km winter city driving isn't anything to be proud about either ha ha. So given our climate in this country, a low number of sales for a "summer fun" car is to be expected. I am considering just parking it next winter and getting a beater.
But, the good news is, if someone wants a brand new 2010 GT (red), I know where you can get one at a dealership for $12K off MSRP - they've had it in their showroom for a looong time
