Okay guys, here's the latest information about DGRR 2008!!!
This information is coming directly from Phil himself so here's the plan!
We currently have 76 people signed up, however, we need to get 150 to make this event happen! So please either sign up here, or on the original thread found HERE!!! For those who sign up here I'll transfer your name over to the master list on a weekly biases.
For the latest and most up to date information and / or to sign up please click here: DGRR 08
This information is coming directly from Phil himself so here's the plan!
Before I make this thing official, I need to know who's REALLY interested in coming to Next years DGRR.
As you might of read few months ago.. I really can not spend all my free time organizing this event without any compensation and with many of you complaining..
So, I've decided to take a different approach to next years event..
I've did some research and came up with a plan were I think All of us, include myself will enjoy..
So, now this is what I need from everyone..
In order to make the registration fee reasonable.. This year, I HAVE TO HAVE at least 200 people sign up. If I can not get 150 people, event will NOT happen!
Also, Next year, we WILL DEFINITELY have a Car show! I've talked to one of the rotorhead in CA and he's going to help make a special trophies for this event..
I know some of you are now wondering how much..
Well, Its not official as of yet.. But in the ball park, it will be $55-85 per person.. But remember that this includes 3 meals (Friday Dinner($15), Saturday Lunch($10), and Saturday Dinner($15)), Discounted lodging at Fontana Village (This year you'll get bigger discount by signing up early... 30%, 20%, 10%), Event T-shirt, Maybe Event Sticker, Keychain, or patch, and Ton of giveaways!!
Also, Those who register early will get a DISCOUNT to registration... Just as you would get by reserving your room at Fontana. Early Registration just makes things easier for me and also for Fontana.
Example (ONLY an Example but pricing will be very similar):
From Aug 1st to Oct 1st - Registration fee will be $55 and you would get 30% off from Fontana (More than last previous years)
From Oct 2nd to Jan 1st - Registration Fee will be $65 and you would get 20% off from Fontana (5% more than this year)
From Jan 2nd to March 1st - Registration fee will be $75 and you would get 10% off from Fontana (Not much of a savings AT ALL)
From March 2nd to 2 weeks til - Registration fee will be $85 and you would get 0% off from Fontana AND you might not get a T-shirt (Think of this as a penalty for waiting too long to sign up)
From 2 weeks til to the day of the event.. I can't guarantee anything as I need to give the finally number and PAY Fontana for all the meals in Advance.. So, I would still charge you $85 and you might not get a meal and DEFINITELY NO T-shirt!!!
Here are the list of people who's interested so far.. If you don't like the plan, please mark yourself off.
I need to know asap who's interested and who's not.. Otherwise, I'll give up and spend my time doing something else..... like building my car
Thanks!
As you might of read few months ago.. I really can not spend all my free time organizing this event without any compensation and with many of you complaining..
So, I've decided to take a different approach to next years event..
I've did some research and came up with a plan were I think All of us, include myself will enjoy..
- I've decided that we need to have a central local where we could all meet thru out the event. This means renting a banquet hall at Fontana(This means more money)
- Many of you complained about food and and serve provided by Sweetwater. Closest place outside of Fontana was 30-45 mins away and many of you didn't want to make that trip and once we were @ Sweetwater, many of you waited over an hour to eat... So to resolve this, we are going to have ALL our meals at one location... Fontana Village (Buffet Style)... Also to make things easier, 3 meals will be included in your registration fee.
- People meeting up at the Dam.. I've noticed from past 3 years, People wanted to do what ever they wanted to do.. Some of you think the Dragon is some sort of race track and think you need to have as much seat time as possible. And some just want to relax by your hotel or just hangout and talk to your fellow rotorhead.. So, I've decided to make the Fontana Village as our head quarter and we'll have our normal Show and Shine there... So, if you want to go drive the dragon or chill inside the Banquet, you could do so..
But as a tradition, we'll informally plan an hour long cruise from Fontana to the Fontana Dam, to the Dragon, Go over to the otherside, and to the water front. From there people are on their own running the Gap. - Because we'll have a banquet hall, Only those who register and have a pass/bracelet will be allow to use it! And also parking near the banquet hall will be for registered members ONLY! Also anyone who did not register will NOT be able to attend the lunch and dinner.. And only those who register will qualify for door prizes..
So, now this is what I need from everyone..

I would like to get 100 people signed up before I continue on organizing this event..
Please goto the RX7 club for more detail, regarding next year's event.. Unlike past 3 events (years), I'm trying to do all inclusive (3 meals, T-shirt, etc). I know some of you aren't going to like this, but its better for all of us.
If I don't get 100 people by End of this month (Aug 31st), Most likely I'm going to give up and start worrying about putting my car together.... and do some local tracks!
Thanks everyone!
