DGRR X - 2014 (10th Year Anniversary)
#27
Funny thing is that he was one of the local(ish) guys and wasn't even there as a registered attendee last year.
Just a heads up to everybody: In the past Phil has turned a blind eye to people showing up without registering and purely going to socialize.
This year the DGRR organizers are putting their foot down on people randomly showing up, both due to events like what happened in the quoted picture and people randomly "poking the bear" with regards to attendance without registration.
DO NOT TRY TO COME IF YOU DON'T REGISTER!!! Obviously the driving occurs on public roads and there is nothing saying you can't drive them if you aren't registered... However, from what I've heard, there will be a way to identify what cars are there with DGRR and which ones arent. We do work with the local law enforcement during these events, the troopers in the area come out every year and give a safety briefing, this is NOT a small event that slips through the cracks.
That said, you don't ONLY have to show up in a Rotary, I've been going since 2010 (except for when I've been deployed) and I've only taken my FD once (it was getting painted one year, and having a rebuild another) but that's NEVER had any negative impact on my experiences (hell, I'm thinking of just taking my CBR this year if I'm free to go). Obviously if you don't have your rotary there then you won't be in the car show, or the dam picture... Otherwise... it's all good

I rented a house that sleeps 8-10. Right now it's just my gf and I going. We'll both be bring our 8's. The house is 10 minutes from the dragon and 20 minutes from Robbinsville. Plenty of parking in the driveway, pool table, ping pong table. If you might be interested in staying with us send me a PM.
Prices obviously depend on how many people are staying, but the house for 3 nights is 500 total. You do the math.

My wife and I are going. This will be my maiden voyage on the tail. Some friends are going down the same time and we are making a long weekend out of it. We rented a cabin in Gatlinburg, TN.
I will be heading down from Elkhart, IN...anyone else from northern IN or MI heading down Thursday?
