RENESIS Compression adjustment & Rating, Excel Application
I make an Excel Application to make the compression adjustment easy.
The program adjust measuring compression values according to the graph below from RX8 Service Manual.

With the program
you can enter values in kpa, kgf or psi (all values are converted to kpa)
you can save measurements for future reference
you can compare saved measurements
you can sea a similar measurement chart
etc
The Rating uses the limits below
Compression Rating
Standard Difference in Chambers (150 kpa) rating
Standard Difference in Rotors (100 kpa) rating

on side note...
this is wat resulted using this excellent, easy to understand and convert application... (Since only the 2nd workshop was able to get some reading using the PSI measurement and reading the compression at 187 rpm...)
Rotor 01 (i assume front): Rotor 02 (i assume rear):
First Chamber: 100 First Chamber: 116
Second Chamber: 98 Second Chamber: 115
Third Chamber: 100 Third Chamber: 114
* Comments showing standard to high compression for Rotor 01.
* Comments showing high compression for Rotor 02.
But comments for differnce in Rotors: recommended a rebuild.

Short story, shorter.....
Have overhauled an engine, with the workshop claiming to replace all parts... housing, rotors, apex seals, sidewalls, and reused the corner springs (as they said this needs no replacing) with mild porting...
So far, engine does not suffer any loss of power. Pickup is fantastic!
However after running in, i decided to do a compression test...
1st workshop = failed
( just for info... front rotor at 182rpm ------> 0.55 / 0.55 / 0.51 rear rotors cant read)
--> Front rotor @ 250rpm 0.65 / 0.65 / 0.61
--> Rear rotor @ 250rpm 999 (means, no reading)
2nd workshop = passed (but remarkably? let me know)
*first he said that 04' (pre-fl rx-8) has a weak starter... The FL rx-8 (think here it is called s2 units) has a better starter.... (anyone knows where to get them?)
Thus he say he needs to use this conversion to get the results... It wont differ much, he said...

- So is my engine reading like it is brand new or just fairing well?
- Is it true that the 04-08 models starter are weak? I have read abt these and it seems to be true... Is this starter one of the possible cause why i have a slight delay when cranking up the rx-8? (i use to think that my delay in cranking was because of my relocation to the rear boot) the delay is like 1 or 1.5 sec delay compared to other friend's stock rx-8...
- why the difference is the two workshops? any truth?
- anyone knows how to convert the readings in the 2nd workshop to readings of MPa instead of PSI?
Any help or shedding more light on this matter is greatly appreciated..

Do i take the first two readings or the last two reading (the one after pressing the conversion button, its a website the workshop goes to[http://virusakos.freevar.com/web/RX_...lculator.html], to do the conversion readings) that is derived after the conversion?

Replacing ALL the housings, rotors, seals and sidewalls would be almost as expensive (if not more) as a new engine...

Measurement unit: kPa
Front Rotor:
RPM = 250
First Chamber = 838.02
Second Chamber = 825.02
Third Chamber = 838.02
Rear Rotor:
RPM = 250
First Chamber = 949.02
Second Chamber = 942.02
Third Chamber = 935.02
Standard Difference in Rotors 111 (Limit <=100)
The Standard Difference in Rotors Value that is over limit is a minor problem or not problem at all since the Compression over miles drops and the Motor is after a rebuild.
Make a new Compression test after a couple of thousand miles (3000-4000) to see if the difference Increased or not or …
I suppose that the compression test done correctly according to WorkShop Manual.

Awesome work on this excel, thanks. Just a feature request: allow to input the altitude and adjust the result to sea level, since for example here in Madrid at 700 meters unadjusted values would be somewhat lower.

According to the WorkShop Manual of RX7 altitude Adjustments is about 8,172 kPa per 100 meters or 0,08172 kPa per meter for the first 1200 meters.
There is no Mention in the WorkShop Manual of RX8 as I know so far.

but it does seem that my first rotor is lower than the second right? - Meaning to say that they may have did a poorer job on the front rotor compared to the rear?
So ure saying that the difference in rotors is acceptable even though ur excel application state otherwise?

Think that in normal conditions the Back Rotor Compression drops faster than the Front one as a result in a future Compression Test i predict that the Standard Difference in Rotors value would be lower than 111 kPa if the rebuilt was successful
Unsuccessful rebuilt means Compression test Values far below 800 kPa .
Another thought is that the unchanged parts between Front and Back Rotor was not in the same condition and have more wear.
