Hello everyone! Glad to be here on RX8club.com. Driven Performance Equipment, or DPE as we like to call ourselves, opened our website (www.dpeweb.com) to the world just over a month ago after many months of preparation. We specialize primarily in performance parts for Mazda, Nissan/Infiniti and Subaru vehicles, though we can get parts for other cars as well. Additionally, we are manufacturing a few of our own parts, some of which are in the testing phase and will be released in the coming months. No forced induction kits in the works or anything on that scale, but we think you’ll like what we have to offer.
We’re based out of Shawnee, Kansas, part of the Kansas City metro area, though our only sales channel is online at this time. A bricks-and-mortar shop and retail outlet will come later, once we have established an online presence. We are incorporated in Kansas under Driven, Inc., and unlike some online-only retailers we do maintain a substantial inventory. Additionally, I do run DPE as my full-time job, so you can expect nothing less than outstanding customer service.
So what are we doing on RX8club.com? Well, our Technology Director and one of our honorary Team-DPE parts-testers both drive RX-8s, and we’ve all come to appreciate the wonderful rotary engine and the sublime chassis that Mazda has crafted. I personally drive a modified WRX wagon (I hope that’s not taboo here?), but have hundreds of miles of seat time in an RX-8 on a variety of twisty backroads in the Ozark Mountains. Okay, they’re really just big hills, not mountains, but some of the roads down in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas are nothing short of incredible; and perfectly suited to a car like the RX-8. Point being, we collectively have a great deal of hands-on experience in both driving and wrenching on the car, and with the monthly track events DPE sponsors on the Heartland Park road course, we’re even able to test out parts on track on a regular basis. In other words, we share your passion for driving and modifying the RX-8.
Anyway, feel free to check out the site, and send an email or PM to let us know what you think. We’re adding new products and other content to the site almost daily, so check back often. We’ll soon have a much broader tire selection as well, arranged in a much more user-friendly fashion.
I’ll post a new thread in our forum listing what we have available for the RX-8, and some new products that will be available in the coming months. As an added bonus, we’re offering free ground shipping on nearly every part we carry for the RX-8 from now through the end of May! More details in a new thread later tonight.
