Installed
Here's a pic of it installed. I already had the tanks and was using a plate I made, I liked Dan's better so I ordered the backing plate and finally got it installed..
The first pic is the homemade plate that I was using. The second and third pics are the ones of Dan's backing plate installed..

Willard1,
Wiesel42 is correct, the plates are shipped with a bare metal finish. If you want to paint your's blue, we recommend starting with 1-2 coats of a bare metal primer spray paint (Rustoleum) followed by the spray paint of your choice. I used Rustoleum high gloss red enamel and it came out great.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey Dan,
If you remember I was at Import Alliance with you. Anyway I was wondering if you were going to DGRR. I'll probably pick up a kit there since I just removed my air pump and have loads more space

I'll plan on bringing both complete bundles and just the install kits so folks will have both to choose from. Let me know which one you want and I'll set is aside for you.
Cheers,
Dan

This is not a knock against epitroch, but you can source these parts yourself and save a little money. A few years back that is what a few of us did and his kit came out shortly after. Assuming things haven't changed, his suppliers are reputable and he does provide a service to this community.
Personally, I would NOT pay $225 ... I wouldn't pay $199 either.

ShellDude,
I understand your point of view. That said, for what you get, I believe we offer a very competitively priced product. Some reasons why:
1. A genuine Sohn adapter. Yes, there is a creep in Hungary making counterfeit parts with questionable seals
2. A very cool water jet cut Aluminum mounting plate for the containers that mounts to the firewall perfectly with all required fastening points...this is the real value of the kit--not some crappy hack sawed back plate.
3. A very well written set of installation instructions including all important notes, cautions and warnings; additionally a video is now available on YouTube as well
4. Savings on shipping--the expense of sourcing each part adds up quick
5. A RHD version for those rotary enthusiasts in the UK, Australia and New Zealand
6. Convenience--A proven kit with over 1,600 sold. No need to reinvent the wheel...Most folks want a clean install without a lot of hassle and are willing to pay for it. I can tell you that my margins are not high. Especially when the adapter is included.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

i hope you are well.
I am not going to question the benefits of the Sohn adapter kit but I will question all of you guys that you overpriced everything after market upgrade or part for the rx8. Good business to take advantage the people that they love them cars, you know where they pain (car issues) and you overpriced a bloody plastic bottles, aluminium etc. You all start becoming more greedy than the Mazda lol 😝 and at least they bloody spend millions on research and tests and they overpriced everything to get it back. What you spend and don’t take it personal, general speaking .... a cost of 40-50 dollars kit max to sale it for 230 dollars, seriously??? I have a lot of examples like here in uk, they buy a part from US for £20 and they sale it for £120 and they think they are the makers, engine oil £20 more than the US price. I believe we have to turn our backs to all of you and probably you will start arriving to the ground and low your noses.
Thats all from me thank you for reading
Regards
Chris

Speak for yourself, buddy. I'm happy with my Epitrochoid kit.

I believe you have some kind of problem with the reading lol as I never questioned the benefits of the kit, try again one more time 😆...however if you are happy to overpay something this is your problem not mine.😉

I'm perfectly happy with my kit (which includes the amount of money I spent on it).
Nobody is forcing you to buy it. If you think you can source it for cheaper, then do so. There's no point in coming here to crap on this guy's thread.
