Doea anyone know if any of these options are standard fit on the high power version, I am sure I read a thread somewhere that the alloy pedals were standard on the high Power?

Also there dosen't appear to be the LED gearlever as shown on a previous options thread (scroll down to the 5th set of images)(here

The aluminium pedals are standard on the high power, and the 6 CD on both.

Nice link to the accessories pics Chris, the list does mention a "Red / Black / Brown leather gear ****" so this may well be the illuminated one.

I think I read elsewhere that the circular section for the stereo can take a combination of components. I hope this is the case as I'd like to keep the 6 disc changer and get the MP3 player.

Audio components

Sorry Andy, MP3, CD and 6 CD all install in the top slot of the audio head unit, MD and Tape install in the lower one, so your ideal choice wont be possible.

This is the combination I would have liked as well. The MD is a possibility but it would mean buying a portable unit as well to record / transfer from computer.

That's a pity, I wanted 6-CD and MP3 as well. I think this would be a popular combination so its a shame it wasnt designed to accommodate both.

I wonder if you can get the 6-CD swapped out for the MP3 at little cost by the dealer?

I have read on another thread that the start button will only be available in Japan, although the thread here suggests that it can be ordered direct from Japan for import (in this case to the US).

In the spirit of free commerce I am sure any of the Japan only options will be available.

I think some of these are standard to the hi powered 8. Besides the starter motor (which is a must) where are the rear spoiler options. I must say I have mentally put aside £2000 for extras.

I was under the impression that a hand crank came as standard.

I'm up for a tyre deflector. Flying tyres can cause some real damage if they hit you at speed.

"Tow bar & harness"

See even an option to pull start it!

Wonder if we can get a Huskey dog option too?

The tow bar option must be especially for me as I have a nipper on the way and I am trying to contemplate fitting all of the stuff in the car......

Perhaps I could buy two cars and cut the back off one and use it as a trailer, like all of those classy "half-escort-van" trailers you see.

If it's your first child and you are hoping to use the RX8 as your main car then you are in for a bit of a shock. I had a VW Corrado before my first lad arrived and the boot is bigger than the 8's. There wasn't a cat in hells chance of fitting all of the stuff you need to go anywhere with a baby in that.

It was the only reason I bought the C70 - big boot with room for 4 and real performance.

Don't want to rain on your parade but the RX8 might not be the car for you.

Well the nipper isn't due until January, so if (and its a big if) my car arrives in September I will have three months to see how things go.

If there isn't enough space then I will have to reluctantly buy a ?????????? (don't want to think about it) and sell my RX8 to a non pre-order fool (for a premium of course)

What? We're NOT getting an Engine Start button? But thats why I wanted it.

Hmm S2000 for me then?

What? Only 2 seats? And I sold my Eunos cos of the 2nd baby on the way? Ok, I'll be quiet

However, what I WILL get is Tinted black windows as on my ST24. My god they ensure the silver cars look coolest.

Otherwise I would go for titanium.

and erm whats so special about the special key?

Does it leave the house on its own accord and start the car in the morning to warm the engine and cabin up half an hour before you need to get in it?

Or is it that special it doesnt exist?
