I just took the plunge today so hello to all!

Titanium 231 Top Spec (all in Spain same, no options, all leather/satnav/no sunroof). 2 weeks old and a beauty!

Couple of things to say:

If anyone is in Spain pls get in touch to meet up. Im in the south near Marbella/Malaga. I would like to start a local club for us here but there are only 200 8's in Spain as yet. I'm a Brit but I speak Spanish.


I am both thrilled and delighted by the 8, so much so that I drove 700km to Valencia to run it in, to see my ex. who lives there, and back again. Coming back I touched 210-220kmh and it was well-behaved and silky smooth. I have yet to gun it more.

200kmh seems like 100, it's deceptive until you start passing big Mercs and BMWs on the open roads.

I am a bit concerned about consumption.........I deliberately did a full tank while driving mainly long highways and freeways with a lightish foot. I still got only about 20mpg. I reckon that all the test
specs lie! The extra-urban figure is 30 approx??? But, it seems to be getting a little better with each new tankful. Any1 reassure me??

Regarding Termite's post about clutch plate noise, I noted that too. With the clutch up and the car idling, there is a tinkle-tinkle which goes once you depress the clutch and engage. I was worried about this so actually went back to the dealer! They let me sit in the showroom car,started it up and it did the same (my brother who was there said that the show car was slightly worse!). The head mechanic said that the sound is normal. Can anyone comment further?? Why is this??

Hi Paul,
I am not from Spain, but my wife and I were there on vacation several years ago. What a lovely country. We flew to Ibiza for a few days, then to Barcelona for a few more. From there we drove to Valencia and stayed the night. Then we went on to Madrid for the weekend. Best vacation my wife and I have ever been on (and we have been on quite a few). Loved to drive on the highways there. Wish I had a better car though.
