Thumbs up DECEMBER for Belgium

Hello,

Yesterday, thanks to my dealer, I was in Bornem - importer Mazda for Belgium, where I saw 3 RX8's transfered for some days from Germany for a dealerpresentation. I was lucky that I could participate as a client.
I sat in them, could inspect all details and ... I am realy overwelmd. The car looks mucht beter in real.
It is worth waiting for him.
I spoke one of the bosses there and so we can be pretty sure that december will be it. At this moment they sold 50 cars in Belgium but delivery will be a problem for those who order later.
My dealer ordered 7 cars, he will get 2 : one for him and my car.
If you want one, don't wait to long as they are not sure that the price will remain due to the great succes of the car.

Patrick.

Dont know if you need more info, but for Greece its actually no STD-Pow (at least until mid-2004), and 40K for the HIGH-Pow.

Hi Patrick,

It would be stupid from them to increase the price of the car.

Because remember that the nissan 350Z is cheaper than the Rx-8 High Power. And many others cars of this type are sold in the same range than the RX-8 like the Audi TT, 147GTA, Golf R32, Audi S3.

I think Mazda wanted to make a different sport car with a reasonnable price and wants to make high volumes of it in order to increase their market presence and renew the company image. Actually I heard that mazda is even not able to cope with the demands of Mazda 2 (order delay of several months), they will not for this increase the price of it.

I think the company is getting out of several years of bad sales and they reduced their production capacity during those years. They have now changed their strategy and prefer to build cars only when sold. This is probably why the delay is so long and is even increased due to the high success of the car.

Anyway as you told its for sure very worth to wait so long the car as it looks so good and appears to be very great to drive. So let's be patient.

By the way, congratulation, you are very lucky to have get into the car. How appears the general quality of the dashboard ?

hi,

The overal quality is of high standard. Lighting of the dashboard is remarkable. It seems to me that the little console doors between the two seats at the back ("ski-door) is a bit plastic, at least not so solid. The motor is mounted put very low and linked with the backweels with a carbon 'cardan" in one piece. the whole "échappement" is in stainless steel (inox) and quiet thick.

You know, I had the feeling of a real "cockpit", rurrounded with a lot op controls, also on the stearingweel. I must say the leatherchairs sit very confortable and can be adjusted electronicaly to almost every position. I have long legs and I like to 'lay' in my cars, wel, no problem and even then an adult can fit after the driversseat, lets say not for long journeys but ... it works.

It was a great experience you know. So now I leave you for the weekend, if you have further questions, please ask me, i wikk answer far as far as I know the car. And by the way (I was used to a MGF) there is plenty of room for lugage.

have a nice weekend
Patrick
