Inspector Sleuth here,

Andy,

Either your off work sciving/ill/holiday since its not a book one can carry under the arm.

Or you are in fact carting the book around with you.

Personally i would bet my money on the former. No one is that much of an egg head to cart it around with them (unless its in the car)

I picked it up yesterday and a couple of the petrol heads in work were interested in looking at it.

I'm getting quite obsessive about the RX-8 (or so it appears to everyone that knows me) but not that obsessive that I'd cart the book around with me!:D

I visited my dealer for the first time yesterday and after talking for about 20mins as I left he asked me if I could phone him and give him regular updates of what was happening.

The only thing he could confirm was that customers would be receiving their orders before most dealers had any demonstrators.

I said this to the dealer and his reply was - "well you could take yours out for a drive before yiou hand over the cash!"

Not quite what I was thinking of for a test drive - after I've sold my current car and got a personal loan!

My dealer said that if I was not 100% happy with the car then I did not have to take up the option. However, if one is selling privately that could cause a timing problem.

Thing to do would be to drive it as soon as it is in, if happy agree the extras to be added and meantime sell the other car. If you can part exchange this could be avoided. Finance can be organised within hours now.

But yes, its not the way I would like it.
