Great News!
According to a representative of MotorExpo 2003 the RX-8 (and 350Z) will be appearing at this year's event in Canary Wharf. We will see the car before the deliveries which suits me just fine. Rejoice!

Well I mailed the contact address of the show stating that I'm hoping that the RX-8 and the 350Z (got both on order - can only keep one) will be displayed. A few hours later I received a reply from MotorExpo to say that the two cars WILL be at the show assuming that neither manufacturer changes their mind. I would imagine that both manufacturers will welcome the exposure especially as the Expo caters to a more discerning audience than the typical econobox market. If NTL weren't messing about with my email service again tonight then I'd have posted the mail I received. I will when I can retrieve it (read it at work but it stays on the server until I download it at home - as yet I've not been able to).
Right, finally got my email (temporarily!) and here's the relevant paragraph about the RX-8 and 350Z:

I can confirm that both vehicles will be attending Motorexpo. This is the information that I have been given by the manufacturers, but I can't accept any responsibility for any change in their plans. I am sure you understand!
In addition, you may like to confuse the issue further by casting your eye over the TT V6 or Chrysler Crossfire, both of which will also be attending.

Looking at the lineup for last year I was amazed to discover that the RX-8 was there (locations - scroll down to Mazda). That means it should be there this year too for sure! Wish I'd seen it in 2002 though.

MAZDA RX8
The revolutionary four seater, rotary engined coupe from Mazda joins the most exciting line-up of sports coupes for decades. Delicately balanced handling contrasts with the engine spinning sweetly to 9000rpm. Radical suicide rear doors further point to the start of the japanese sports car revolution...
Sounds quite good.
