It's the Exhaust with the pipe between catalyst and Box, but I've already have a 200 cell catalyst and the MazdaSpeed CAI installed ^^

Well i didnt think i needed to comment on his 8 looking nice, all rx8's look nice, that why i drive one. I just watched the video's sounds very nice. Still waiting on this engine, hopefully it will be this week.

I am looking to replace my 4 bridgestone tyres on my rx8...can anybody recommend a good substitute of brand? Does anybody know of a good place to buy tyres in Dublin?

For replacement Bridgestone tyres the UK RX8 owners club recommend the RE050A (225/45 R18 91 W ) as a better alternative to the RE040's

You can have the tyres fitted locally by any of the many independent tyre fitters.
I have the Toyo Proxes T1-R's which I cannot recommend except maybe in wet weather. The T1-R's change the handling of the car by not being so precise in cornering and not as sharp to react to a change of direction.

It's a few years since I bought from EireTyres but I think the prices shown are inclusive of postage within the Rep of Ireland.
ps. A quick check on EireTyres web site does say that postage is included in the prices shown. I think delivery was only a couple of days (maybe 3/4 days)

hi all, Well i got my new motor. I also got a new clutch, i said i might as well get it done while the engine was out, The car is runing great now, but my head is recked.. I just want to let it rip...................... anyone know how many miles i have to do before i can drive it hard...

Well done on the new motor. You will have to be a bit gentle for the first 1,000Kms. The owners manual states- "1- Don't race the engine. 2- Don't maintain one constant speed for long. 3- Don't drive constantly at full-throttle or high engine rpm (over 7,000 rpm) for extended periods of time. 4- Avoid any unnecessary hard stops. 5- Avoid full-throttle starts.
That's all and you should have a very long lived motor., but do consider adding premix after the 1,000Kms.

Hey - wish i'd stumbled accross this thread a while back. Looks like you and i have been going through the exact same process. Happy to say i also got a new engine (see sig below
) Also got 70% parts and labour for cat and new modified starter. Dealing with Belgard Motors near Tallaght who to be fair did a good job.Yeah this whole running in lark sucks major ***. Only 400km since the change so still having to take it easy. THe manual tells you all you need to know about running her in...so hard to drive the car like a *****, it's actually embarrasing when you're getting overtaken at the lights by freakin glanzas. grrrr.

1. Glanzas are scumbag cars
2. We don't need to prove anything to them
3. You drive an RX-8, they probably know what'll happen if they don't overtake at the first chance!
4. Be patient, you'll get them back after 1000km!

I assume you are talking about the stock alloys right? If so, what condition are they in and how much are you asking for them? Furthermore, would you be willing to split them as I only need two.

Hi,
My rx-8 needs new spark plugs. Any advice on where I get them from?
I plan to fit them myself, as my local mazda garage are charging 200 for 4 before labour.
From reading posts the following are recommended(NGK)

The only difference is that the dearer one has the Mazda logo on the box. The cheaper NGKs are just NGK. The main thing to look for is that they are laser iridium which both sets of plugs are.
The only thing increasing the price as far as I can see is the Mazda logo...

I bought mine frome www.sparkplugs.com at about the same as price as rotaryfx.com, plus shipping of course.
Thats as good a price as you will get anywhere, for exactly the same plugs as the "Mazda" badged boxes.

In Ireland you'll only get the RE8C-L Leading plugs from dealers. I went to Mazda in Nenagh when I first got my 8 and they ordered RE7C-L's from Japan just for my car. Good thing it was complimentary!
The REC8-L's are good but the RE7C-L's are better when it comes to ignition as they have a higher heat rating (this may sound silly as the 7 is hotter than 8) but that's the way it is).
Anyway, the NGK plugs on rotaryfx.com are exactly the same thing as the Mazda branded ones but a LOT cheaper. Installing them yourself is very easy. Just make sure you put the Leading and Trailing in the right place and take your time screwing them in. Use a torque wrench if possible.
