For the few people that doubt Mazda...

Much better than your BMWs and Porsches...

Odd how BMW, who have 32 claims per 100, came out with a lower average bill than Mazda ? (£251.65 in comparison to £275).

When BMW mechanics charge 3x the hourly rate of mazda...

EDIT : Oh and ...

22 SUBARU £1,038.99 21 237

OMG wtf are they fixing? Didnt Scoobydoo's come top of JD powers survey year after year?

edit 2 :
Subaru?s dramatic fall of eleven places to 22nd in the table may surprise a few observers. However, costly repairs to the Impreza?s engine and transmission units pushed the average bill to nearly £1,040 making it the most expensive model repaired in the year so far.
So people are thrashing them, and getting warrenty claims on engine and transmission problems.

Much as I like mazdas and trust them to make well built cars, the rest of the table is somewhat a suprise.

The sunday times picked this up as well, and even put a picture of the RX-8 on it.

Mazda tops reliability poll lets be happy!!

This must surely make those unhappy a little bit more happy if Mazda have done the same job on the RX8 as those that have gone to make up this list.

But yes, this is goo dnews, not only do they not break very often ( no suprise there) but their fairly cheap to fix too, with low hourly rates for their mechanics (£55ph instead of up to £120 ph).

Now I think parts for the rx-8 may be hard to get hold of initialy, and probably more epensive than other cars too.

Yes - it is good news.. however (not wishing to spoil the mood of optimism that has suddenly crept into this forum) those figures can be turned on their head by the introduction of one new model with teathing problems.

Good news is that the signals about how the dealer network sorts out such problems are still valid, and I havn't seen too many gripes from the US side about warranty problems. If anyone watches those boards more closely and has picked up anything, it would be good to know.

Guys, remember: the RX8 is a "conventional" car as far as steering, suspension, electricals, body frame/panels, etc etc......are concerned, but NOT when it comes to the engine

If you have a problem with the engine, it CANNOT be fixed, or -in any extend- it cannot be fixed cheaply. So, take care of the Renesis, because if you let anything happen to it, you are looking at a new engine, or a VERY expensive rebuild

And I know what I'm talking about.......

whoa!!!! Note also the Subaru Imprezza. I have heard about problems with those from other sources too. Wow! Looks like they are having trouble in Europe too.

Great for the RX 8.
