need a pipe nipple i can not find in the usa
Hello I am in need of on close pipe nipple. I am a pipe fitter and have checked with many suppliers and have come up empty. The thread specs are m20x1.5 threads and it will be a close nipple with no pipe showing anywhere just all threaded. Let me know what you can do I am willing to pay for your trouble, shipping, and the part. Let me know what you can do. Thanks Josh

this kind of thing isnt my forte, but i know folks out here who would be in the know(not rotary ppl). if i could make heads or tails of what you were asking for i can get word out...

Bacically it is a metric pipe close nipple with thread pitch of m20x1.5. A close nipple is a nipple that is all thread and no pipe showing in-between the thread ends. I can post a picture of one from work to help in a bit. This is for a oil relocation kit and the pipe nipple matches the oil filter threads.

well, i have someone who can MAKE the piece for you if it comes to that. still awaiting better answers, maybe it will take a day or two since machine threads are not very common on pipe nipples.
FWIW you can get 1M lengths of solid rod properly threaded, but you'd still have to cut to size, and drill out your center

i was wondering if it would be, or if it was 2-sided and threaded into the OE mounting base as well.
Your a pipe fitter iirc?... could you silver braze an OE nipple/barb etc in place? what ive been told it can be as strong as a single piece design...
i digress though, i'll keep an ear out, but as you may have noticed via my posts, the guys i am talking to are all the hardcore DIY types. the kind of folks that build/fab ANYthing they need nearly.
the overwhelming response i get is:
-fab it on a lathe
-junkyard it and depending on OE design use it as you intend, or silver braze what you need together

I do not have access to the equipment to braze at this time silver solder or brazing is good for fusing very uncommon material together at least that's when I have done it. Like stainless to brass. It really doesn't fuse it more fills a void n a socket connection. I have thought about options such as fusing stuff together but may call a machine shop. I have worked on many German design things and thought over seas could b a option. At least a much simpilar one

I agree with Dan, i have been working on the assumption that you are trying to mate the oil filter nipple/screw to the hose barb at the relocated end of a kit... dunno how true that is
bmblebee: ok, i was not sure, the silver brazing was just something i had seen. the euro guys i am talking to all seemed to think that machine threads on that type of piece is very uncommon as well.

yes i need the nipple to mate from the top of the RB oil samwich plate to the one side of the relocation kit the other nipple i need to use under the car to mate the other side to the oem filter. There is one think i have checked into with out much success is using a standard nipple (1/2") and using a different oil filter from another car. I can see issues with out know oil pressure specs and other variables. I have contacted mobil 1 which is the filter i use with very little help other that they can mate up but they do not have specs they can compare.

Why do you need the RB sandwich plate and the filter relocation plate? That is asking for a leak
Usually there is a port on the oil filter adapter for a pressure sensor..or you could add one elsewhere easier than the RB plate...what do you need to hook up there that you need both?
