Independent thinkers who are not mainstream and who are comfortable expressing individuality but are currently driving Mondeos and Vectras?

Seems like a fairly small niche to me

LOL. :D

I do wonder though whether the CO2 emmissions will deter a lot of company car buyers.

I know the figures arn't out yet but they can't be that good, especially as they have had to reduce the power to meet standards.

Interesting description of their target customers.

My dealer claims to have had lots of interest from fleet buyers, although I was surprised in view of the less-than-exceptional CO2 emissions etc. Apparently he's offering them cars at retail prices anyway because of the shortage of supply and strong interest. Personally I'd be very happy to know that few cars will go to the fleet market.

I love the stuff marketing people come up with sometimes (apologies to any who are reading this). No doubt they had several intense brainstorming sessions to put together this profile. But since the average UK employee earns about £24k it is hardly a surprise that buyers of brand new £22k cars will be on above average incomes. And these people tend to have above average educations. A masterpiece of common sense IMHO.

Interesting to read Mazda's target audience. It seems quite wide and diverse.

The current model car list seems a bit strange as pointed out by Simon. I cant see that anyone with a love of cars would buy a Vectra or a Golf for that matter (unless its a R32).

Predominantly male as well, though there are a lot of TT drivers who are female. I wonder what they think will put off the ladies? The Rotary engine, 4 seats etc

Perhaps the formula woman series is supposed to attract the females from their TTs....

These people wont know a rotary engine from any other engine, so I wouldn't think that would put them off.
Fact is , some folks view their cars as a functional fridge like object with a pose value. i.e. Doesn't matter how , just look good while you are doing it !

Two different markets - the RX8 is to appeal to both.
Can only be a good thing.
What a great car - and thanks goodness for the Mazdas of this world daring to be different !
