Road going RX-8 at Santa Pod Raceway Oct 12th
Hi All,
We would like to invite you to Santa Pod next Sunday for the Japanese Performance Show n Go Meet , we now have 80 Rotary cars on the Mazdarotaryclub.com stand and if any of you have Rotary cars and would like to go we still have 5 tickets left ATM (mail me direct if you want a pass real quick)
Even if you are still waiting for your car please come along and say hello, this should be an awesome event with an expected 6,000 cars.
It will be a very special day for Mazdarotaryclub as Mazda will be on the Stand with us and an RX-8 and have said they are driving a roadgoing RX-8 to the event to support MazdaRotaryClub as enthusiasts and not to do a sales pitch for the day which is something we are proud of because as far as we know Mazda have only ever supported one other Rotary club in any way like this and that club is called SoCal in America and it's the one that organises Sevenstock !.
All the Best Clive

Just giving people a last call to see if any of you in Britain want any tickets for what is going to be a great day out .
Bit puzzled there has been no replys in here , maybe a lot of you are under the impression that the people in all 88 cars are Rotary nuts because of our Mazdarotaryclub name ? if that is the case the percentage of our members that are 'just' interested in the engine is low and a lot only have these cars because they look good! and go even better.
8 years ago l brought my first RX-7 and at the time brought the car for two reasons 1 the way it looked and 2 the way it went , the interest in the engine and the heritage of the Rotary family of cars etc came much later and this eventually led to the formation of Mazdarotaryclub in the belief the MAZDA would build the rumoured (at the time ) RX-8 , our faith that MAZDA would not let the Rotary powered car die turned out to be well founded THANKFULLY! as the last thing Glenn and myself wanted was to build a classic car club ( Glenn BTW picks his RX-8 up in November) ,
Hopefully this clarifies where MRC are coming from to you all.
Back to Santa Pod l have asked but to no avail yet if l can take the RX-8 up the strip at this meeting as it would be great to put it along side the 'new' Spirit R RX-7 that we also have on the stand ,he he

Clive,
I'm surprised you have had no replys too.
With regards to the Rotaryclub we know where you stand and respect your club.
As you are aware we are forming an RX8 club which will be purely for RX8 owners. It's very early days as we are still allocating tasks and fleshing out the detail including appointing key people
so I can't say too much but one task on our list is to contact your club with a view to discussing links or possible associations.
We need more time as I'm sure you will appreciate but if you wish to talk then I'm sending my mobile number to you by PM.
Cheers
Simon

To be honest, I would like to go but at the moment I dont think I would be 'allowed' by 'er indoors.
You efforts are appreciated though Clive, and I too am surprised that no one has snapped them up as I would love to go.
Is it a ticket only event, or can you just turn up? Just in case I 'happen' to be passing on Sunday?
Cheers
Mark

Clive -
I appreciate it - it is a great thought , sorry have not replied sooner.
I will be joining rotaryclub as I am one of the minority who have bought the RX8 for the engine , due to my love of my previous RX7 (1st gen).
I cannot make Santa pod - previously booked but may have made the effort to see you guys. (although ordinarily I wouldn;t go near , "Santa pod = Drag racing = most pointless/boring motorsport on earth" IMHO )
Thanks for the info -
Morgan.

Hi Mogan ,shame you can't make it as l am sure you would have had a good day out despite your dislike of Drag Racing as most of our cars are going to show not go .
P.S. Trying to get a second RX-8 there as well !

Clive, thanks for organising a great get together. Also thanks to Mazda UK for supporting the Mazda Rotary Club and providing a Titanium Grey RX-8. I know I have gone for the right colour.
Anyway with over 70 rotary powered vehicles at the meet today lets hope we can break the 100 mark at Brooklands next spring once there are a few RX-8s around to swell the numbers.
Thanks again
Dave

It was nice to see the Rx8 attracting plenty of interest - and get a chance to sit in it. I was quite suprised to find that I did actually fit in the back, even thought the seats look a bit small!
