So near and yet so far!
Local dealer contacted me to say the had an RX8 in from Friday to Tuesday. They wern't sure if test drives would be available - they were apparently waiting for Mada UK to get back to them.
I was advised to take my license along anyway.
Anyhoo, I trundled along, full of anticipation (I've never actually seen the car!). Showroom seemed quite busy, free drinks and nibbles but - no RX8
Red faced salesman said the transporter had broken down!
Bad news for them as they had advertised it in several newspapers and paid for the car to be there over the weekend when they hoped to maximise exposure and sales.
They're hopeful it will be in by tomorrow (Sunday) and the good news is they say test drives will be available - no appointments, first come, first served.
Ah well, at least I got a free sandwich and an accessories brouchure! :D

murphy, got your pm, thanks
strange that this was their first chance to show off a car at the dealership, it was queensburgh that were responsible for the formula woman car which appeared at the classic car show in helensburgh, i'd assumed that it would have gone back there after the show.
anyway, hope you manage to secure your test.
