Stop the clock !

Well - here she is.
Picked her up yesterday afternoon ~4:00pm.

Sorry about the pics , it was dark by the time I stopped long enough to photograph her ! More to follow...

A very happy Morgan.

Nice one Mr Rogers,

What accessories did you go for and is your number plate normal font and spacing?

Strakes, Crest, Bonnet dampers (not here yet), mats.

Plates are as they came from the dealer , I have yet to decide if I am putting on my own RXB plates with the 'old' font...

Bonnet dampers - 2 small gas rams (like what hold the boot lid up on most cars) that support the bonnet instead of having to fiddle around with the folding support most cars have.

So you pop the bonnet and lift - thats it.

Why ? Because I want to do my very regular oilchecks easily (and it also looks pretty cool when someone wants to see that "new rotary wotsit engine thingy" (followed by "Like - where is it ? That's IT ???")

Morgan,

Well done. Hope you enjoy.

Looks like your dealer managed to get the V55 to allow your registration. I'm still waiting for mine and car has been sitting in dealer compound since last Thursday and I still can't get it registered. Oh well I'm sure the paperwork will catch up soon.

Love the car...how did it feel to look out of the bedroom window in the morning..??
Did it bring back the 'new bike downstairs on boxing-day morning' type sensation..?

More snippets for you , after my first real drive in her today (to work!).
She now has 78 miles on her ! !

- There are triangular lights under the mirrors that illuminate the floor when you get in.
- There is the beeper from hell on the seatbelt. (If you pop your belt of it starts beeping , and gets faster and faster until your ears bleed ! Must learn to have my carpark access card handy !
- Dash CD is so clever - it just keeps swallowing discs ! Heaven knows where they go... I have fed it 4 , and it is still hungry
- Alarm is silent when setting (phew)
- Door handles are solid aluminium or similar , a real joy
- There are vent rings.
- There is a litre of oil in the boot in a little carry bag
- The taillights are amazing. The side of them have little disco strips. When you see one , you will understand.
- There is a sunglasses holder above your head. cool....
- Public reaction is amazing. People point and almost crash.

- Last , and the best, is that engine. What a piece of engineering. Torque problem ? errr... I dont think so. Absolutely fantastic.(and I have not gone over 4,500 rpm !)

This is the most 'complete' car I have ever driven - everything just feels like it has been 'thought about' as opposed to 'nicked from the parts bin'.

Best of luck to all those who are waiting , you wont be disappointed ! (or if you are , there is something wrong with you !)

M.

Congrats Morgan!!!!!, one thing that I am worried about is the oil consumption, its not often you buy a car and you get a a ltr of oil with it?, but regardless it is in my view the best thing on 4 wheels!!!!!!

Rotaries like specific types of oil, so I imagine it is to start you off on the right foot!

Wow - thats actually nice that we get a litre of oil - it shows they have been thinking that its better to tell us straight away that it does need oil and it covers them if people don't check them and they go dry....

Dealer advises that seat belt alarm cannot be switched off and apparently taking out relevant fuse will also impact on other functions, unclear what hey are at this point.

Rotorist

The specified oil is 5w-30 Semi-Synthetic.

We have a "cracking" deal for Silkolene/Fuchs Titan XTR 5w-30
for Members of the RX8 Owners Club.

We are also talking to Castrol as an alternative.

Check this thread.

Shipped to your door!

Ditto above as I have 'polished' on order with tit grey and would be interested to see what the brushed looked like.
