mscamp02's update thread (pictures)
My car has gone through quite a bit of changes and I just though I would make one thread instead of 20 different ones to update the forum on everything.
bought the car stock almost 2 years ago, first real exterior mod was my shine auto kit and a set of ebay rims.

After that I thought I would just continue to waste money and bought a seibon cf hood.

And of course there is when I got hit by my little brother while visiting my mother in her driveway.

So I took this and thought I would go in a new direction, bought a tsunami bumper and had a crappy fitting ms replica wing put on. Yeah looked pretty ricey and there were just to many looks going on all at once.

Bought a custom cf trunk off of a member here but then decided to sell it shortly afterwards (sorry no pics)
Imput parted out his car and being so close I thought I would pick up his wheels and trunk. Also at this time my rear brake pads started to squeal so I just decided to buy RB slotted rotors and hp+ pads as well as paint the calipers a semi dark shade of blue.

I tried to sell my busted shine auto bumper but never had any luck and had a couple fall throughs so I decided what the hell Ill try to fix it myself. Came out pretty well. And then I figured why not put that compressor to work and picked up a set of hvlp guns and laid down some paint. First time completely doing a paint job by myself all the way through. Let me just say that I had a few hard lessons learn like make sure you clean your guns so it doesnt clog on you right after you finished mixing all of your base coat so it sprays like ****. Another lesson is to take more time in between clear coats to help cut down on the orange peel, because I have a lot.
These photos are pre colorsand/buff. I just finished painting and it needs to set a week before any type of color sanding or buffing.

paint is not quite as even as I would like (All because I didnt properly clean my gun between epoxy and base). and the orange peel is pretty nuts. cant wait till next week when I can sand and buff it out to make it look better.

The paint I used was:
Southern polyurethanes epoxy primer (2 coats)
Southern polyurethanes 2k high build primer (3 coats)
Dupont Base (dont know number of coats because gun did not spray correctly during this phase)
Southern polyurethanes universal clear (5 coats)

Lookin good dude, definitely a lot cleaner in it's most recent pictures. I'm so pissed about the trunk though, that's exactly what I'm doing.
Looks amazing though. Oh well, maybe I'll just go another route. ![Scratchhead](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/scratchhead.gif)
Keep up the good work.![Icon Tup](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/icon_tup.gif)

I was going to go the same route as you did with the trunk as I said above and I planned to tint the tail lights just slightly, not too much but just a light smoking. Maybe try that? Maybe grab some tint vinyl first to see how it looks, then paint if you like.
