I see what you mean. Thanx for the tip! I also noticed in all my queries, there are seems to be an increase of PIs bringing in the RX8 6AT for the first time. Perhaps there's a market for it now? But still can't find a suitable PI after all these while.. so disappointed.

yeah he replied to my PM. Just curious, have you ever heard of PI who would allow exceptions to customers to have their RX8 serviced at the workshop of the customer's choice? e.g. PI A has tie up with workshop B and customer C wants it to be serviced at workshop D. I've heard of it but want to hear if anybody else knows of this? The way I look at it, warranty is under the dealer, i dont think the dealer pays anything to the workshop so if the customer wants the 8 to be serviced at a good workshop, say Monster or Garage R, I dont see why the PI should object? Anyone any ideas on this?

Nope...
PI A have a list of affiliated workshop - workshop M, workshop N, workshop O
PI B have a list of affiliated workshop - workshop M, workshop N, workshop X, workshop Y
PI C may have different list of affiliated workshop - workshop X, workshop Y, workshop Z
you can choose to go either 1 of the affilitated workshop from their list.
Reason why they choose these workshop - they know the car well and they give feedback to the PI to resolve issue faster, easier and satisfy customer, make them happier.

why you go to the workshop u choose which may not know the car well? save money?
maybe you waste more money... imho

I think what Sushi is saying is going to an unaffiliated workshop that knows the car better and importantly a workshop who you can trust. Not all PIs choose to affiliate workshops that are the best for the customer/car.

Swerve: Precisely my point... PIs affiliate themselves to workshops that can give them the best deal, not many are like Garage R that have their own workshop. Most PIs only care about their bottomline and don't really see the big picture about service to customers. I don't really blame them coz PI loyalty is almost non-existant anyway. Why else would a big PI open many subsidiaries? Just wanna cast a bigger net for a bigger piece of the pie and also can shut down small subsidiaries and not honour warranties if necessary.

It depends on which workshop your PI is affliliated with. Garage R and Monster should have but you may have to foot your own bill?

What I heard from my friend is that the PI AT 8 has only one cooler, workshops often dun have the special tool needed to change the oil filter, the steering rack problem, restricted spare parts of Mazda Japan and so on.
