Jondog: I cannot believe what the mazda 3 owner said. What has a auto trans got to do with back pressure. Its more to do with the engine than the trans. If all back pressure is remove; yup you get power but some sacrifice to low end. Some back pressure is require as the exhuast comes in pulses; if not all cars will come with 10" pipes. Its more like how smooth the exhaust can flow rather than how much allowance for the volume to flow.
The intake follows the same pulse and velocity principle. Alter the diameter too much or shorten the intake too much and HP will be affected, hard to say for better or worse.
Back to the main question. Any lobangs?

If u read this japanese rx8 magazine that compared between these 2 exhaust, the knight sports one actually perform better than the fujitsubo legalis R.
So performance wise, they are not the same....

based on FGK & KS website, seen like the pipe size is same & the look also, but is possible that the size of the pipe & e way the pipe is route within the muffler is different, does e jap maz. state the different in spec. of the 2 exh ? what is the different in WHP ? i suppose they r using same car for dyno & testing the 2 exh.

i believe there is a difference in dimensions at some parts of the piping. Most likely the piping inside the muffler is different too.
Outlook from the naked eye is definitely the same.
From the mag, i shld believe the same car is being used. They actually tested all the first generation exhaust made for the rx8..... dunno whether u have seen the book or not, its dark blue in colour, the front cover.......

I removed a whole exhuast from a motorbike before and it seemed weaker than with a pipe.
Maybe a good one is a mandrel bent pipe out to the sides without any other cat or mufflers. Will be damn loud.
No power nevermind, loud and flashy can already.
