With no steel materials, dust is definitely minimal compared to the stock steel pads. Performance wise, the front brakes do feel a bit more responsive, but not significantly so....now is the time to add the autoexe mastervac
bro, the undercarriage brace is waiting for u!!!

This is what I experience on my Sepang Track day.
The instructor that drove and demo what the Rx8 can do in a bend and can overtake an Evo and Sti during a bend. 120-130 around a quite sharp bend (where I can only do it in 80-90 km/h)
Just after 2-3 laps I can smell some thing is burning. only when I alight the car , I can see the Rear Brake smoking.
The rear brake is so hot that even the red paint on the Rear Caliper also starts to bubble.
So in conclusion. I believe that the rear brakes is equally as important compare to the front one.[/QUOTE]
Can I ask you which bend you are referring to? I mean the bend your instructor managed to overtake the Evo and Sti? Judging at that speed it should be bend 5 dry run.
Brake smoking after 2-3 laps? Hmm..... there is a cheaper way to prevent this from happening again. After a few laps .... just about when you suspect it gets too hot .. you can always run the car at a slow speed for 1 or 2 laps so that your brake can be cooled considerably as air pass thru it before going back to the pit. Or alternatively you can use your gear together with your brake to stop your car to the right speed before turning in to the bend and let your front tyres to provide the resistance there after rather then just jamming on to the brake on a straight line and let the brake to do all the works. One way to do this is thru heel and toe . Thru this way I dun think you can eva smoke your brake again .... the most you will do to your brake is to have some brake fade....

Thats my 1st trip to sepang, I do not know the bend no. if I have a track map now I would be able to count and tell u which bend, sorry ...
Just check my brake pad is ok, I believe that its the paint the I had spray on the caliper that is creating all the smokes. cos I found out that the paint on the caliper is now very rough and can see bubbles (due to the high temp)
What does it mean by "brake fade"?
