Brake squeal in Sing

Anybody here get brake squeal with the stock calipers and pads? Just noticed it today since the windows were down (fantastic day for driving!). Guess I'll check it out with MM tomorrow since it seems to be a common problem as posted in the Wheels forum.

I experienced it for time to time. But the sound is not enuf to put me off! The smile is still plastered onto my face whenever I am driving the car.

How true dru Yet, we don't want to lose the cool factor when our 8's pull up to a stop and sound like a bus Ok, it's not that bad, but I'm more concerned with the integrity of the brakes when they start squealing.

I reckon it to be the brake dust? Perhaps if you change to a better "BRAKE PADS", the squealing sound may goes off ...
I having it usually when I do a reverse parking ... not really that loud during stoping.

Good brakes squeal. Better brakes screams! Best ones Wail like a Mad Woman!!

Racing calipers+pads = Extreme pain from effective screeching = AbosLut NorMal

Are you kidding? The brake OIL..........If you tell the service shop that your brakes squeak they will ask you to fill out a survey, tell them you already have, and they will put NEW pads on that do not squeak and it's free because Mazda knows it's a problem.

MM said the pads will be replaced under warranty next time I bring in the car. I guess the stock pads are crap. Btw, brake oil isn't an oil at all...its a fluid, but of the specific type I'm not sure...hydraulic fluid is my guess. I do know that after lots of driving the fluid doesn't have to be replaced until at least a few years on the road or about 50,000 km or so depending of course on how hard you drive.

So, is the brake pad that causes the "squealing" sound?

Watoke...haven't been in yet for service, just made the call. After I explained the problem, was told that my pads need replacing. I dont know if that's the solution or if it's something inherent with the 8 stocks, but at least there was no mention of rotor turning

not only will they not squeek but your brake dust cuts down by half. Belive me there is nothing worse than a nice car with a shity squeel coming from it.Well, from the brakes.........
