Broquet??

Yo bros, I've read the threads about broquet in the forum, but the debate seems to be about 60/40? I know it works on normal cars, but does it work on our rotary engines? Reduce fuel consumption? I currently can get about 8.5-9, but the sales man at the motorshow was really doing a damn good sell, claims that using broquet will give a return of at least 10% FC savings. Plus discounts and installation... Is it woth the $800?? Seems they have some pics of two RX8's with broquet installed on them, Topfuller 60 and 70.

At least 10% FC savings? Will he put that down on writing with a money back guarantee and absolutely no other incidental charges (installation/removal/admin fee)? By the time you realise the $800 savings, your 8 would have long gone to the scrapyard.

checked out the Sg Broquet website and they do have 2 RX8 installed with the Broquet Top Fueller. Number plates of the cars are shown too. So maybe the 2 owners can give us some feedback.

I know one RX-8 owner who has the Broquet installed on his 8. He said can't see the difference in FC. Savings probably so negligible that the Broquet can't pay for itself. The 'at least 10% FC savings' is highly doubtful. If the salesman is so confident that Broquet can save you at least 10% in FC, then he should have no problem putting it down on paper and offering a $0 risk trial. Unfortunately, it's never going to happen...

I had my Broquet Top-Fueller installed about 8 months ago. Its not just the mileage improvement you should look at, but also the choice to use a lower grade petrol for your precious ride.
Was using Shell V-Power before the Broquet, then 98 after installing. Went down to 95 and realised it gives the same quality/power. With the same mileage clocked, the saving is in the grade of fuel you use.

I'l call that a savings. but ultimately did ur FC improve?

FC savings... hmmm... dun think you will realise any. At least I didn't. The point of using the Broquet is to be able to improve the quality of lower grade fuel to a quality close to that of premium grade.

so does it mean that if i got broquet then i pump good quality grade of petrol like vpower, then it will give me even better quality of petrol...

I have used it before.

Simply put it this way.

98 petrol costs at least 10 cents more than 95. If the said device is able to increase octane. I should set up my own petrol station. Buy 95 petrol and put a few in line and sell it as 98 with a markup of only 2 cents a litre.

My neighbour who works for the shell refinery should kiss his job goodbye.

hmmm... that's a brilliant idea!

My experience with it for the last few months allow me to come out with this conclusions:
1) It somehow gives you a better quality fuel when a lower grade one is used (ALMOST no knocking experienced)
2) It has close to no effect when premium fuel (high octane) is used
3) it is purely for cost saving purpose.

Had it installed on my Odyssey as well and the effect is definitely more significant than my 8.

However, if you're someone who loves peaking your car each time the road ahead is clear... forget it... you'll probably blow the dodgy fuel-line the broquet comes with. Spoke to Alwi of MM about this and he mentioned one case of connector problem on a 6MT 8.

Mine has been running well for the last 8 months, but will be removing for the next project. Any takers? (effective for 750,000km, used almost 20,000km)

Contrary to some user here, I have fnds who used them, some paid a lot of money and end up selling them at a huge discount becos it is disappointing. He drove a Honda Accord and another a Subaru TS.

For me , I stay clear, never believe such crap becos FC is dependent on ur right leg, nothing else. As to giving same power using lower grade petrol, I got no experience so cannot comment but caveat emptor... if so good, shld be selling like hot cakes now but .......

Salesman said that broquet was apparentlz tested by subaru, and it's now installed in some of their models, like the wrx. He claims that some of the subaru models at the motorshow on display are also installed with broquet. Apparently there is a money back guarentee if not satisfied, but i wonder how much the hassle will be to get the cash back.

And can they g'tee will not affect fuel flow to our thirsty engine at high rpms?
